  • Wildlife walks, nature ponds, 18-hole footgolf course and dog area
Is it basically golf but without all the gear? Or more like a laidback version of football? Head to Horncastle Footgolf Course and Camping in Lincolnshire if you fancy finding out why this game has such a cult following… Or don't, if such sporty pursuits aren't really you're thing – this 60-acre spot is spread over spectacular parkland with an abundance of native trees, has on-site nature ponds and wildlife walks and is right on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, meaning there should be something to do around here for pretty much everyone. Facilities at this Horncastle Footgolf Course and Camping include basics like well-maintained showers and toilets and luxuries in the form of a fully-licensed restaurant, bar and clubhouse. Other amenities here include water points and a dog area where you can exercise your four-legged friend at a safe distance from the fairway. Keep your eyes peeled for animals and birds while staying here too, as deer, rabbits, hares, geese and pheasants are all known to pass through on a regular basis. Horncastle town centre is about two and a half miles to the south, which at most times should take about five minutes by road. Head here for supermarkets, pubs, coffee shops and nature reserves.
