General

  • Peaceful holiday park spread over 30 acres; a mile from Burgh le Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive from Skegness beach and Lincolnshire Wolds
  • Four-acre fishing lake on site; private hot tub for each lodge

Fishing, coastal and country explores or just chilling out in a private hot tub – all are sorted at Home Farm Park, a spacious north Lincolnshire site spread across 30 acres of rural land with a large lake.

A mile from Burgh le Marsh, this is a handy spot both for beachcombers (with the sands of Skegness and Ingoldmells about a 10-minute drive away) and folk who want to spend some outdoor time in the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (10 minutes).

Angling types – and those who’d like to hone their fishing skills – are particularly well catered for here too, as the park’s four-acre lake is packed with carp, roach, tench and barbel, some of which have been hauled out weighing a sizeable 20lb. There’s a small charge for fishing here and at the sister park up the road if you fancy a change of scenery. Wheelchair-accessible pegs are available, so all guests can try their luck.

So that’s the angling covered, but how about the accommodation? The park’s lodges are all smart, well-equipped numbers that come with central heating, a comfy lounge and a kitchen containing all the bits you’ll need – including a dishwasher and a washing machine.

The highlight, however, is surely the private hot tub set up on the deck area outside each lodge: an excellent place to soothe any stresses you may have brought away on your hols.

This park is also convenient in terms of the practicalities: a 20-minute stroll gets you into the village centre for a small supermarket, a chippie, a butcher, a bakery and a couple of pubs.

The lodge was beautiful, very spacious and immaculately clean. The hot tub and outside area were excellent and the park was very picturesque and tranquill and only a short distance from the local village and centre of Skegness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be booking again in the future.

    Disliked:

Could have done with a few more kitchen utensils and crockery and there was no information in regards to nearby facilities etc.

This is not a criticism of the Park Owners or the booking site but rather a recommendation to notify future guests that transport into the village or surrounding areas is very limited if you do not wish to drive - only Taxi company is in Skegness and they have limited availability and therefore can be a long wait.

Everything! Great place to just chill out and relax, the site is small and nice and quiet. Only a five min drive into skeg if you fancy a change of scenery! Fishing was good only a few steps from our lodge! Hot tub was brilliant and had colour change lights for night time which was lovely!
The lodge itself was modern and the decor inside was fabulous and cosy, I think a tv in the bedroom would be an idea as well if you want to relax in bed. It was rainy when we stayed and very muddy near the lake and quite slippery, i think some sort of path or stepping stones from the lodge to the lake could be a great idea as our shoes got very dirty with mud and grass which would be a shame if this got inside the lodge and spoilt the lovely carpets!!
We can’t wait to come back again maybe in the summer time to enjoy the beautiful views and decking area!
    Thanks for a great weekend!

Perfect for Quiet family stay09/19/2020

Lodge was fantastic and the Park was really quiet. Hot tub was full class. Skegness had the nicest Fish and chips i ever had.

    Disliked:

When we arrived (3pm) i had to deal with not the nicest lady on the Phone refusing to let us in as she said the booking started at 4pm but it said 3pm on the booking so she finally gave us a code for the barier. 4 sets of dishes for 6 people stay... We had to share. Lady has put something in hot tub that made a Brown nasty foam. We had to clear the whole hot tub.

From the manager...

On the letter we sent you it did state check in was currently from 4pm, as the cleaners were still on site cleaning on your arrival, as we did let you in early this meant final checks were not done in the lodge you were staying in hence some of the inventory was missing. If you had mentioned this when talking to us daily we could of easily rectified this for you.
We only use chemicals to keep the water safe for you which we do this daily, unfortunately when you get mud in the hot tub which we did scrub off the sides on several occasions, and if the hot tubs are used correctly ie showering before use and not getting in with muddy feet, it would mean the hot tub would stay clear and no residues, and if all items worn in the hot tub are washed in water (no soaps) it will not create a foam.

Excellent site with super clean and well stocked lodge. We stayed in Beechwood which had three bedrooms, family bathroom and ensuite to the master plus a super clean hot tub on the decking. All staff were super friendly and helpful and we had an amazing long weekend fishing the lake which was well stocked and gave us the best catch of too many carp to count- up to circa10lbs. The site itself is quiet and not at all crowded and truly gave us the relaxing break we needed - highly recommended and we would definitely go again.
