General

  • Peaceful pitches on a family farm a mile from Todenham
  • A 10-minute drive to Moreton-in-Marsh; 25 mins to Stratford-upon-Avon
  • Tennis court on site; excellent walking and bike rides nearby

Cotswold Hills Camping is a peaceful Gloucestershire site with gorgeous views of classic Cotswolds scenery: all hills and woods, with the Norman church spire of the local village, Todenham, clearly visible through the trees too.

Spacious pitches at this family farm are in a field next to an orchard, with woods and a stream nearby for wanders. You're welcome to pick your own pitch here – numbers are limited on site so wherever you settle you'll have plenty of space.

This is the kind of area where you can walk for miles on the farm and local footpaths without going near a road (thus making it a great spot for cyclists too). There are loads of thins around for families to do as well – particularly around Bourton-on-the-Water or Stratford-upon-Avon.

Todenham, a mile away, is the nearest village, but for most amenities you’ll need to travel to Moreton-in-Marsh (10 minutes’ drive away), a larger town with markets, cafés, pubs, supermarkets and other shops. It’s also got a mainline rail station with services to London, and a local village bus service can whisk you off to Oxford or Stratford-upon-Avon. Chipping Campden and Stow-on-the-Wold are within easy reach for days out too.

Facilities on site include a tennis court, showers and toilets; there’s no wifi but the mobile coverage in this area is excellent so you won’t be cut off.

Excellent quirky little campsite09/03/2021

The couple running the site were brilliant - so helpful and friendly and had obviously put so much effort into setting up various bits of the campsite, even an outdoor cinema and tiny bar. Added so much to the camping holiday as kids loved going to visit the cinema. Really enjoyed our stay and it was mainly down to the all the little touches that the couple running had done to make it more enjoyable. Also a lovely view, especially in the evening when the fields went golden! Hope to visit again

Beautiful views, great location, friendly owner, plenty of space, quiet and peaceful, shower and loo worked well. The Cotswolds has always been very under-served by campsites so it is great to see these pop-up campsites appearing.

Lovely staff, relaxed site, great views and walks. Would genuinely love to be back if the toilet / showers are drastically improved

    Disliked:

Shower/toilet block was too basic for us, no real privacy and not enough for the site, should have at least 3 toilets and showers for a site of this size. Also lack of bins not great

From the manager...

Hi - thanks for the review and we're glad you had a good time. We are farm pop up limited to 25 picthes to ensure good space and the planning rules don't allow us to build much in the way of facilities - we did put in a wooden structure eco loo and shower, which a lot of pop ups do not have, and two extra portaloos. We also do ask people to take their own rubbish away as for the price, we cannot pay for tip or collection costs - it's just not economical - we do ofer do take bags to the tip for a small fee - I hope you understand

Great view!! nice fields to pitch in.

    Disliked:

Very bad communication from staff. They asked that we text to let them know that we had arrived and where we pitched, no response. I texted again to ask a question about the site, no response. We didnt see a single member of staff.

Very bad facilities, but this is to be expected when its a pop up site.

From the manager...

Hello Maisie
I am so sorry for missing your message i have only just found it after reading the review.
We had some unforeseen family emergency and had to go to hospital hence why I missed your text and no one was around.

Hi Genevieve - thanks for the review which we appreciate and we're pleased you had a good time - we do have loads of space and limit pitches, but people tend to camp at the top where the views are best!

We've stayed with 3 young children. We all enjoyed it a lot. Beautiful views from the hill. Not overcrowded. Lots of privacy. Couple of days it was only us on the field. Some walks in the area. 15 minutes drive to town and supermarkets. We've had a fire every night. Bought burn wood from owners. There is lovely pop up cinema and bar on site. Toilets and showers are awesome, under open skies. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Great first camping experience for our children. Thanks. See you next time.
