  • Quiet and scenic site with direct access to Forest of Dean footpaths
  • Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves and Go Ape within a 15-minute drive
  • Dog exercise field and modern bathrooms; pubs a mile away
Fancy the chance to go walking in the woods without having to drive anywhere? Deanwood Caravan and Camping has direct access onto footpaths taking you into the Forest of Dean – so it really could hardly be easier to get out and explore this gorgeous Gloucestershire scenery. Getting out for a walk might take you along woodland trails in search of local birds and wild animals – or it might involve heading up to Yorkley village, a mile away, which has two dog-friendly pubs as well as a well-stocked village shop (a handy place to pick up picnic supplies or something to throw on your barbecue back at base). Dogs are very welcome on site too, and will have access to their own exercise field where they can have a good run around off lead. Other facilities include washing-up areas and access to a fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Toilets and showers are housed in a modern heated block so there’s no need to worry about chilly toes… The Forest of Dean is a fairly compact area, so pretty much all of its attractions are within a 10/15-minute drive; there’s more to see and do over in the nearby Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Beauty as well. Three miles away, the town of Lydney has various leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and is a handy source of shops, supermarkets and restaurants.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Very clean site with spotless facilities.

Disliked: Unfortunately when we arrived at 1pm we were told there were no pitches left on the hardstanding with the view, so we were left facing the big green barn which wasn't the nicest to be honest and would put us off coming again.
