What customers say
Campers love the spacious, private pitches, often wood-fringed for peace. The host is friendly, views are lovely, and Arbor Low is close. Facilities are good for basic camping. Entrance can be tricky, and some heard traffic, but it's mostly quiet.

Secret non-electric grass tent pitch (woodland)
Liked Love everything about this site! Such a gorgeous, remote location with an area all to yourself. All the same benefits of wild camping with the convenience of a toilet and sink area. We stayed in the secret woodland area and could not recommend it enough for a large group, as it feels private and secluded enough.
Fire pit was a lovely touch as well, we will definitely be returning.
Disliked Nothing! It was perfect for what we needed. Only thing maybe was the sign posting to the site entrance wasn’t obvious, and I had no signal to check back for more info, but my own fault really for not checking in advance. Overall no complaints at all.

Secret non-electric grass tent pitch (woodland)
Liked It was everything we look for in a campsite and more.
We love the smaller quieter campsites and this was just absolutely idyllic.
It somehow managed to be both in the middle of nowhere but also close enough to everything still.
It was two minutes away from a well stocked petrol station and a short drive from Bakewell (yes we may have accidentally bought three tarts from the bakery, oh and fudge from the fudge shop).
Our days out walking were only ever a short drive from the campsite although there were plenty of walks even closer if we wished.
Back to the campsite. The pitches were amazing. Gave us complete privacy and space. It was beautiful to watch the sunset with the sheep and cows in the field next to us watching the swifts play. It was a haven of wildlife.
Our pitch was well sheltered by mature trees which was a blessing during windy weather, because of how we pitched the tent hardly moved because of the trees.
There wasn't light pollution so on our last night it was a beautiful clear sky and there were so many stars and I saw the ISS making its way across the sky.
We had a great time away.
Thanks
Disliked Obviously that we had to come home.

Secret non-electric grass tent pitch (woodland)
Liked On arrival, the gentleman was so welcoming and friendly and couldn't help us enough. We also had a laugh which was nice. The area was extremely peaceful considering we took 7 children with us. The site itself had a few pitches and ours was secluded and private which allowed the children to run around and just be children. The pitch fitted 2 family tents and we had a lot of space (not like some which is car, tent, car tent etc) the views were lovely and we enjoyed the livestock next to us. there's a toilet and a sink with warm water and also a fresh water supply. It was back to basic which is just what we were looking for and well needed. Thankyou for your hospitality from us all! Amazing! Thankyou, will definitely be back with more of us

Non-electric grass tent pitch (large, woodland)
Liked Quiet, spacious, private, woodland! A tiny, joyous retreat in the White Peak
But shhhh don't tell everyone!
Disliked Some minor traffic noise from trucks, but after hours all you can hear is the wind in the trees
