A lovely site and we would definitely visit again
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The amazing views from the non-electric field
The general organisation
Disliked More toilets and sinks would’ve been handy for the amount of people on the site
And a shelf or counter top to put your stuff next to the sinks
Perhaps a bigger freezer and it was jam packed
10/15 min walk to the local pub where we had a lovely meal

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Very friendly wardens, informative and super easy process to check in.
Showers etc were in plentiful supply, very clean and warm too.
The location is really handy for many wonderful places in the Peak District, it’s well connected road wise but there isn’t traffic noise even though it’s close- fantastic!! Lovely views, and friendly fellow campers.
Disliked My minor gripe is a shower to stay on- they are push ones but you don’t get long. If you’ve got long hair like me it’s a pain.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked We liked everything about this camp from our friendly welcoming to flat ground
The showers and washing up areas are spotless
There's absolutely nothing to dislike and we will return time and again (thankyou)
Disliked There was just one thing my partner never had WiFi or signal and hes the principal carer for his elderly momma bear and he likes to touch base with her twice daily phone calls if hes not around in person
Luckily I had so he was able to reach her on my phone however none of us are bothered about going off grid to be perfectly honest thats why we camp but just for that peace of mind in anycase im sure the camp owners would let us use their phone if needed be so it hasn't put us off

From the manager: Thankyou for your review following your one night stay with us.
It still amazes us that despite all the media coverage on wild fires throughout the UK, that campers still arrive expecting to be able to use open fires/BBQs with no lids etc. On arrival you were told at great length how we had taken the decision to prohibit the use of open fires on the site whilst the exceptionally dry ground conditions continue. However, you decided that the rules did not apply to you and later that evening lit your fire pit. That is not demonstrating responsible behaviour during this period of drought. The wardens attended your pitch and after, what I would describe as a confrontational situation, you eventually extinguished your fire. Whilst we do generally allow open fires as advertised on our website, there are occasions where it is unsafe to allow these practices to continue and as stated in our Terms and Conditions, relating to Force Majeure.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Lovely location near to Ashbourne, Leek and Cheadle. Great for Alton Towers and Peak Wildlife. Great location for walking, near to Ilam Hall which is a beautiful place to spend some time. Clean toilets and showers, washing up area, small shop/reception but this is being upgraded.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The campsite is very spacious with a great environment. Everywhere is clean, especially the toilets and showers. They are kept extremely tidy, and everyone seems to clean up after themselves out of respect for the hard work of the cleaning staff. It makes the facilities pleasant for everyone to use.
The location is also very convenient. There’s a restaurant just 1 minute away by car, and an ALDI about 3 minutes away where you can buy anything you need. During my stay, I visited Treak Cliff Cavern, the National Nature Reserve, Stepping Stones and Reynard’s Cave, and TeamSport Go Karting in Stoke‑on‑Trent. All of these places were easy to reach by car, and each spot was unique and enjoyable.
Disliked The only issue was the electricity on my grass pitch. The voltage didn’t seem strong enough — even when I was just using a household kettle, the power kept tripping. I couldn’t use more than one household cooking appliance at the same time, which was a bit inconvenient. I’m not sure whether it was just a problem with my pitch or a general issue.
