Parking up for the Peak District? Take your tourer off to Ashbourne Touring and Camping Park, a well-equipped park in a handy spot just off the A517 a mile from the village of Hulland Ward. Easy access from the main road means it’s nice and straightforward to get set up at this Derbyshire site – and that location also means you’ll be handily close to the village’s pub and farm shop (a useful source of supplies for your barbecue back at base). Bus services from the stop just outside can take you into nearby Ashbourne – or you can drive over there in about 10 minutes. In fact, everything here has been designed to make life nice and easy for guests, with well-kept ample toilet and shower facilities, a chemical disposal area, a washing-up area and a launderette provided. Dogs are welcome to join you on site as long as they're well behaved. The wifi service provided is also likely to come in handy, given that you'll probably want to plan lots of days out around the area. The edge of the Peak District National Park is about 10 minutes' drive away, as is the start of the traffic-free Tissington Trail, so you'll be in a good position for getting out to explore the lovely landscapes. And there are plenty of other attractions around too, including Alton Towers and the Chatsworth estate.

A neat, peaceful spot with generous spots and lekker staff. Facilities are kept spotless. Close to attractions and trails. Some WiFi woes and road noise. A few had pitch or facility issues during busy times.

Liked Friendly welcome. The was excellent, level and spacious. Washing/shower/toilet fascilities very clean as are other servicing areas. The dedicated dog walking paths was fantastic. Overall, highly impressive and highly recommended.

Liked Clean site, well kept, beautiful shower rooms. Little park area for the kids. We had young children and teenagers and everyone enjoyed the stay .close to nice pubs and walking routes.

Liked Nice site. The dog walk was lovely. The toilets in the sheds was a nice touch as the toilet block is a bit of a distance from the camping field.

Disliked The bins are a long way from the camping field and it was a trek to put things in the bins. Also one of the toilet sheds was locked for a couple of days which was hard work with the amount of people in the camping field.

DOGS, spent the weekend listening to someone’s dog constantly bark, if you can’t control them don’t take them!!!!

Liked The site is located in a lovely area, the park is kept lovely and clean around the grounds. The lady in reception was very friendly and helpful and so was the gentleman who helped me roll my tent up to fit in the bag. Everyone was friendly and adhered to the rules with regard to by 10.30pm you never heard a sound.

Disliked The only thing that lets it down is the showers, the shower curtains could do with being washed more often.
