Friendly staff, clean toilet blocks, the pitch backed on to the lake. Definitely will book again

The area is poor at catering for cyclists lots of signs stating no cycling could do with cycle tracks/paths

Would of been nice to access Castle Howard round the lake instead of having to walk on the road as the cars speed pass without any consideration

The campsite has very nice surrounding areas, plenty of lovely walking locations from the site. The facilities were clean. The reception lady was very welcoming and informative, there is a dog walking area and the campaite is very dog friendly.

Only one main issue noticed, the campsite is quite narrow, the plots where we were allocated are face to face (not a problem) but the road down the middle is narrow and there isn't alot of space for caravan maneuvering. Luckily the plot opposite our allocated plot was empty when we arrived and we were able to use the space to park the caravan, upon leaving we were lucky the large RV style motor home opposite had left before us and there was a smaller camper van in the opposite plot, upon pulling away with the caravan we had to get very close to them.

Also.... be aware. No phone signal or Internet signal on site. Nice and peaceful, but a bit frustrating when you have things to sort out elsewhere in life.

Amazing location - access by driving through castle walls! Facilities some of the best, especially considering the price of the stay, with hairdryers provided and nice clean toilet/shower block. Camping field a bit of a walk from the facilities but otherwise great.

Lovely location and very close to the castle farm shop and cafe.

Shame you can’t walk all the way around the lake.

Lakeside Walk

The facilities were the worst that we have come across on a holiday park site. They are cramped both for the toilets and the showers. Two basins in the mens washroom were out of action, leaving only three working. Similarly in the ladies washroom several taps weren't working properly. These basins were small and there was just a push start with no adjustment for temperature, meaning that you had to clean your teeth with warm water.
