Liked: Great spot lovely reception lovely pitch by the lake and got 2 for 1 into the gardens at castle howard with campsite booking voucher just a shame whitwell taxis charged £15 for a 1 mile drive back from castle howard to the campsite ( was dark otherwise its a lovely walk)

Liked: Friendly welcome. Clean and warm showers and toilets. Good facilities and lovely walks around lake and campsite. The christmas lights at Castle Howard make it a magical stay.
Disliked: Nothing in village to walk to and no path on road to walk to Castle Howard

Liked: Lovely location perfect for Castle Howard and Arboretum. Castle in walking distance and beautiful scenery. Great for dogs.
Disliked: Facilities need a little upgrade and hard standing is not exactly hard standing.

Liked: Lovely location. Pitches large and laid out well. Very friendly welcome. Facilities clean heated. Lovely walks around the location.
Disliked: The only slight downside which bothered me was the facilities. The sinks in the ladies toilet block were sited very high on the wall which made it awkward to wash your hands. Even though the showers and toilets were very clean...there was a bad smell in the block and it wasn't obvious where it was coming from.
All things considered, it was a great site and very good value.

Liked: Lovely stay, well maintained and clean toilets and showers, the grounds and lake was very nice.
Disliked: A little muddy but is winter but probably needs more gravel laid on the hard pitches

Facilities are excellent, clean and showers are nice and warm! (Hang in in there, it takes a little bit of time)
Very scenic and all of surrounding area to being within the grounds of castle Howard.
