Scenic campsite with plenty of room, clean toilets and showers

Washing up facilities were very basic with one cold tap outdoors.

We had a great stay at Fronalchen campsite. We loved the river (right next to the campsite) and also the Torrent walk, too. A pretty area with views of Cadair Idris.

Some other guests were really noisy at night, despite quiet time being clear on the booking information.

Amazing views, level pitches and lots of space. Close to beach and really nice trails

Absolutely love this site! We have stayed 2 years on the run! We have young kids and older in the group and we all love coming here! Staff are so friendly and the field, toilets and shower areas are kept lovely and clean..

The campsite was easy to find with sat nav, straight to reception. The campsite was quiet at night time. Had hot showers and toilets available, including portaloos around the campsite. Basic campsite, however, this is what we wanted, back to basics and proper camping. Pitch size is big and gave us the opportunity to have personal space and enough space to have the car, tent and accessories all together to make it comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Close enough to walk to a shop, starbucks and slightly further, a lovely village with pubs, shops and restaurants (even a take away & barbers). Was only £10 for a fire pit, 2 bags of wood and fire starters. Overall, great campsite for traditional camping.

Although toilets and portaloos available, a couple of portaloos were blocked and unable to use.

The campsite is one of the more basic sites we’ve been to but if you are a seasoned camper like us that won’t put you off! The showers are pretty clean and the site is quite big so plenty of space for little ones to play etc. There is a gorgeous waterfall not far away and a petrol station in walking distance to stock up if needed. The staff were very helpful with advice about the local area and seemed very friendly. Stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

The electric hook up is all located in the centre of the field with one generator feeding all the connections. There wasn’t much structure to the layout of the tents so it was a bit of a free for all but there is enough room to spread out if you have a long enough cable. Try not to pitch too close to the generator if you can’t sleep with white noise! For those not needing EH you can pitch anywhere and it’s a bit more spaced out. There are only 3 female toilets and 1 male (with some extra portaloos dotted about) which may or may not be an issue depending on your circumstances!

Friendly quiet campsite with great facilities. Toilets and showers were kept clean and topped up.
Location was perfect with great walks around the area and not far from a shop.
The field was well kept and despite the ground being wet it was still easy to get in and out of in the car, also level perfect for a tent.
The site wasnt packed either so you still had good privacy and enough room around your area.
The wood was priced fairly for evening fires and lasted well.
We will definitely be back again!

Nothing to dislike! Just a note- it may be clearer if the pitches down the centre(where electric hookup is) were marked out so it is clear where to pitch up and how much space you have / where to park the car.

Quiet location, lovely views

1 male toilet for the entire site so would have been an issue if site was full

The location was beautiful.. open field surrounded by hills and trees and not far from other places to visit. Starbucks literally a few minutes up road or Coop and Costa machine in town 6 mins drive.
Showers hot and good pressure. Toilets clean (excuse the spiders though).

Not enough facilities for the size of camp. Showers were nice in hot when you finally got to use one (only about 7 of them for the whole site). Though the water got everywhere.
Toilets, only 3 ladies and one tiny sink for everyone so often cues, or no where to do teeth or wash face. There was a section of floor coming away so by one toilet door you nearly twisted your ankle getting in
Being a field, when it rained the cars caused lots of mud - could do with a gravel road putting down round the site.

Large space to find your own pitch, electric pitches in the middle strip of the field, none electric outside.
Porta loos dotted around closer to camping spots than actually facilities. These where cleaned daily!
Site very clean overall.

Only 7 showers that had no lighting meaning you had to wash by torch light of an evening. Only water tap based a entrance to field
