Liked: The site is lovely and although there were many people it was tranquil and quiet. Obviously lots of people fishing ( which we weren’t) but it was so enjoyable to watch the massive fish being caught and walking the dogs around was an absolute pleasure. We were only there for two full days so we didn’t try the bar or cafe but the food looked really nice. We arrived quite late but it was no trouble to show us where to put the caravan etc. You buy electric on a card and they refund anything left. I wish we could have had longer there and would definitely go back. Clean facilities, level pitches and very nice staff.

Cafe food was delicious!Disliked: Would be useful to signpost the lakes, if you haven’t already, we couldn’t see them and we were a little confused as to which lake was which.
We were shown a map on arrival, but couldn’t remember any of the info after pitching up.

Liked: Shepherds hut well stocked, clean and tidy.
Disliked: No warning there’d be people fishing and camping right outside door of the hut and nowhere to sit outside hut as people fishing use the tables for their bait/equipment.
Hi glad the shepherds hut was up to standard. At the time of booking you would've seen that the shepherds huts are right on the lake, plus the pictures show this very clearly, its a fishing lake and people do fish there. We have taken your point onboard about the outdoor seating and normally people bring their own chairs, however we are in the process of getting benches for every single cabin/shepherds hut. If your cabin had its own bench, as some of them do and you had of reported this at the time, one of our team would have come over and got the fishermen to move their equipment and it would have been problem solved!

Liked: Very well kept nice site , staff very friendly, shower & toilet blocks spotless , lakes well maintained and loads of fish caught between us and a bonus for the hubby was the Wednesday bike night

Its running every two weeks throughout the summer months so if you want to come again when its on just follow us on face book for the fishery page or Hubbles and the dates will be on there.
