The site was quiet and well equipped. The walks around the watersports centre and along the river were really nice.

The location next to the water sports centre was really perfect. A large site for families and groups to be together.
The site was very organised by sending pitch site location number, codes to bathroom and entrance.

Shower and wash facilities really poor as no hot water to use.
Pitch was next to a main road, so hear traffic noise.

Nice play area for small children, site was secure so didn't have to worry about the children wondering too far

Facilities were only cleaned in the morning, got very dirty after the morning rush, toilet Facilities where abit far away, could do with some smaller portable units scattered around

Lots for children to do

So many dogs not on a lead and roaming,even though it states they must be. Dogs coming into our pitch while our 2 dogs were on leads.

Tidy campsite lots of space, some good activities at nearby water centre - we did kayaking.

Freezing cold showers.
Toilets/showers not very clean.

Location, scenery and ease to get anywhere from the site

The location of the only toilets and showers on site meant a long walk, there were toilets on the Bell Tent Village which we used once for our kids but got nasty looks off some folk on there so we never used them again. There needs to be another set of facilities at the further edges of the site.

The you were near the national water centre. Beautiful walks.

Being next to the tanks near the toilets, kept getting a gas smell. The toilets and showers. They were very unclean , people did not respect them. The fact people were still
Making noise up to 12pm. Other people did not respect other people tents and walked through same as children in and out of ropes on tents. Lack of hot water and lights in the family bathroom.

Leaving the site

Hi stayed at HPP camp site on the BH weekend at end of May, I was sited on the Rafters part of the complex in a caravan with no hook up, this was due to a very very late booking.

Arrived on site at 4PM after spending the day paddling at the whitewater centre.

There are about 7/8 shower come toilet units on the Rafters and 2 sinks for washing up

Approx 80 units, so about 200 people.

No hot water for showers
No hot water for washing up,
Sinks absolutely caked with food rubbish and grease,
Sink on left had cold running water, sink on right no running water, people trying to wash up after cooking, having a terrible time,

HPP had put a sign up saying boiler had broken and to use the main site ablutions block.

HPP you took the money from everyone, no refund for not providing the facilities, no emergency boiler pers called out, this over a bank holiday weekend, you should be ashamed.

I saw no cleaners on Saturday or Sunday, but on leaving the site on Monday morning about 9 I observed 4 cleaners.

A bank holiday with over 200 people on rafters should have been cleaned at least 3 times a day

I will not be recommending anyone to pitch up at this site ever

Really nice site, spacious pitch and left alone to enjoy the weekend.

Booked an activity, didn’t receive the booking confirmation and after a number of calls and visits to reception and the water sports centre still out of pocket.
