Views are amazing and we loved everything about this site. Louise, who's lovely was there to greet us on arrival and direct us to which ever pitch we wanted to choose. We stayed in the wooded area which gave shelter from the burning sun and wind if needed. I can't explain it but for me I had a real sense of peace away this site. I slept like a log. The toilets and as showers aren't top notch but I didn't care about that if I'm being honest because I enjoyed the site. The front of the site is where all the views are and they're absolutely stunning. I was tempted to book again for that area but the wooded area is more peaceful. No kids either which is always a plus, especially for my little Frenchie who's is kid mad.
There are free roaming dogs and goats which are super friendly but the dogs do come to your tent sniffing around but as a huge dog lover, I didn't mind. Plus, they're adorable looking.

Great place to walk as well even if you're not fell walkers liked us.

    Disliked:

We're couldn't pitch our tent with average tent pegs because it's very stoney. If you want to go in the wooded area, bring a metal hammer and strong pegs.

Apart from that it was really good. See you soon Louise ☺️

Love staying in the rail cabin, beds really comfy, great having the gas cooker and kettle for tea. Loved that the animals just wander around, toilet are clean, but only 2 ladies toilets so can get busy. Would go back again, as Louise is very friendly and helpful. Wasn't so keen getting woke up with the cockerel in the morning ,but he's a great alarm clock.

Amazing views from the upper field08/17/2024

The campsite is divided into two areas, and where you find space for a pitch makes a big difference. The flat field at the farm and facility level provides an average camping situation with tents quite close to each other and the facilities a few steps distance.

The upper field is the one that has made the difference for us. It is on a hill with breathtaking views of the valley and provides a genuine wild camping feel. There are only 3 or 4 pitches far apart and it is really great. We had the entire ill for ourselves for most of our stay. To take the water you need to go down the facilities and climb back maybe a 20-40 meter change of level. You can do it with the car.

We got the highest spot with fantastic views and with the shelter of the woodland from three sides. A really beautiful experience.

Facilities are ok and the owners very helpful.

Toilets and showers were quite primitive and not enough for the size of the site, quite often had to wait outside.

From the manager...

Ohh you should have let me know and I would have nipped that out immediately. I advertise “no music” and I mean “no music” 0 tolerance!
Sorry that it spoiled your stay 😑

Moss Side Farm is such an amazing place to stay, it offers everything, the scenery around you is absolutely beautiful, it's a working Farm and I just loved being here around the chicken, goats, dogs all roaming around freely, beautiful fruit trees on site, pears, victoria plums, and apple trees, the showers are very dated and the wash area, this adds more to the wonderful experience of stopping here, the hoist is such a lovely lady and very helpful, there a walk in nature to the local village along the old rail way tracks, you can hire fore pits and jabe a fire why enjoying star gazing on the night as theres no light pollution at all we watched the stars for hours while keeping warm beside the fire pit. Me and my husband will definitely be back, it's situated on a great place also for tourists who want to see all the attraction around and about.

Beautiful location and great walks. Lovely hosts, showers were hot and cute pigs and goats!

    Disliked:

The dogs whilst very cute, were too much. They made putting our tent up very difficult as they wouldn't leave us alone and got in the way the whole time. We had to always put food in the car to keep it out their way.

We fully expected a working farm environment, but chainsaw noise next to where we camped all day did ruin the tranquility. Probably more peaceful at a weekend.

The facilities were quite disappointing, very basic and no hot water in sinks or for washing up and only toilet roll to dry your hands.
