Liked: Such a laidback attmophere, amazing back to basics camping. Had a great stay, and the views are incredible.
Disliked: The bush heading into the camping ground NEEDS trimming, scratched the hell out of my van.
Farm dogs hanging around the campsite whcih is fine only it meant our dog needed to be out in the van alot which is very unfair.

Liked: Calm ruralness, excellent views. Fires are allowed. Friendly host. And, it is a farm! With farm animals and farm dogs!!
We had a bad experience prior, so we had to change our booking period (1 day earlier), no problems, no costs. Very lovely.Disliked: –

Liked: Beautiful working farm. Lovely owners who were helpful and kind. I managed to book a railway pod as it was pouring and didn’t fancy putting the tent up and then back down in the rain. Very comfortable and easy walk into Broughton in Furness with all amenities.

Disliked: The road leads in to the farm behind the railway carages so was not as quiet experience as I would have preferred. Also on the day of arrival there was an off road bike running circuit in the woods next to the stables.
Sorry about the noise. Our lane is usually a very quiet one, we’ve never had anyone mention noise before! The off road motor bike in the woods….well that was my 65 year old farmer husband cutting a tree which had blown down in the recent storm.
As advertised, we are a working farm Campsite not a quiet retreat, sorry to disappoint.

Disliked: I understand the business owners may want an evening off every now and again, however I think it is unreasonable to prohibit guests from bringing their own firewood, whilst also being unable to provide a reliable alternative.
I am glad we didn’t travel in winter, and we urge anyone visiting to bring their own firewood if they wish to have a warm night’s sleep
Ohh dear I m so sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. We do sell fire wood at £7 per sack, £1.50 for kindling which I think is very reasonable. I state that fire wood sales finish at 7.00pm although we do often get knocks on the door after hours, some times up until 10.00pm, and if I’m still awake I greet with a smile, although at that time summoning a smile take a little more effort.
We do ask visitors to buy their wood from us for the stoves to try and prevent guests burning wood/coal/ heat logs which are unsuitable. Heat logs and coal have cracked our stoves in the past and logs too long do to fit in, encourage guests to leave the stove doors open which is a health and safety risk. I don’t make up rules to be awkward I add them as experiences force my hand so to try and keep running my little farm Campsite safe and manageable.
