The location, the layout of the site, the quiet atmosphere, the security.

No sign of any staff throughout our entire stay, nor any contact via the given phone numbers. The WCs were spacious and close to hand, but had rough, unfinished wood surfaces which gave us at least two "splinter incidents". Also, there are no Accessible Toilets on the site, despite advertising as such. This made life very difficult for my partner who relies on handrails in the WC and shower.

The scale of the site was perfect for us. It was small enough to not feel overcrowded but had everything we needed.

The gravel track to park the camper was a bonus and the pitch had a great grass area that we set up our fire pit and outdoor area. The second night was set up the outdoor space and stayed out all evening, a perfect night under the stars.

This is our 2nd stay at Den & Orchard, as it is 10 minutes from Longleat, and a great pub with good food just 5 minutes away.
It’s very clean and well kept both the outside areas and bathrooms.
One bathroom block had been updated since our last stay which meant this time it was very clean (as before) but now it has been what looks like insulated, heated and decorated meaning it was much warmer and fresher.
We didn’t see the owners this time but I did have to call beforehand about electric and time if arrival and they were very helpful and accommodating.
We will be booking again 😊

Clean facilities, well kept landscape & independence

Grass pitch was mainly mud/dead grass from previous campers so our tent was very muddy.

People stamping loudly in the late evening & early morning in the cabin right next to our tent pitch.

Heaters in the showers/toilets not working so it gets rather cold.

Lovely quiet site, close to Frome which has a good selection of places to eat and drink. Short drive from a Sainsbury’s to stock up. The toilet and shower blocks are clean and excellent as is the communal washing area. A small clubhouse with a limited supply of drinks available but still a nice touch. Our first time at the Den and Orchard but we will probably be back !
