The staff were very friendly and courteous.

The tent pitches were all up on the top of a steep bank and open to the elements. There was no shade from the hot sun or high winds. I appreciate the managers have no control over the weather but the layout of this site was terrible for tents.
Having a tent meant that every time we needed to use the facilities - toilet, washing up, shower, bin area for rubbish - meant an almost ‘roll’ down the hill and a heart thumping trudge back up it! It was bad enough for me, being quite fit but my friend has problems with her knee which made this a very painful experience.
Our neighbours were in a caravan, they both had health issues and had to use their vehicle to drive down and back to the shower block.
Although the showers were kept clean and tidy, apart from hooks on the door, there was no stool or seat, which again my friend found difficult. The showers were set to very hot, so much so I could hardly stay under it, and being activated by a button, there was no way to change the settings. Out of the 3 ladies showers, one had a very slow drain (obvious blockage somewhere) and so I ended up standing in a pool of foamy water while trying to dry off!
We were booked in for 4 nights, we stayed 2 nights then packed up and went home.
The reviews for this site are very good and I’m sure if you are staying in a caravan on the same level as the facilities, it is fine. (Although I’m not sure where the ‘peaceful’ reviews come from because there was noise from the nearby road).
This is one site that I will not be going back to.

The site was lovely and people very friendly. We had a puppy with us and he loved the attention.

When arrived we were told to pick a pitch up the top of the hill as we had asked for a grass pitch. There was only one available 56 and it was on a terrible slope. It was impossible to get the caravan level. To get to the washing up area and bathrooms you had to walk down the hill which is fine when your fit, I could get down the hill but couldn’t walk back so had to take the car. Supermarket was about 8 miles away (Morrisons) and Tesco 11 miles.
Restaurant was ok but expensive and didn’t get what we asked for in first night, we asked for takeaway as didn’t want to leave puppy on his own. We had a fully serviced pitch but had problems with water drainage as not level.

Lake walk and Bar/Restaurant

Lack of bins when on the top grass area especially dog waste bins that probably could have been sited at the back on the field.

Peace and quiet. Shower block. Honesty box for milk and eggs. Spacious pitch.

Being so close to the place to empty chemical toilets when the wind is blowing the wrong way. Communication between pitchup and campsite was not good, which made changing the date more difficult than it should have been. More expensive than comparable sites.

Location, Location, Location and the Barn Restaurant was a delight. Wonderful pitches and other liked minded peoples aways adds to the atmosphere.

Absolutely nothing, would of liked the restaurant open every day, that's only because it was that good !!!

Lovely site, we were at the top of the "hill", yes there was a small hill to climb to access the fishing lake which may be a problem for people with severe disabilities if you were based near the restaurant but what a lovely site. Management were so friendly and helpful, restaurant was great with deals for the meals including a bottle of wine. Will most definitely visit again and thoroughly recommend.

Large pitches, very quiet, spotless toilet block, lovely food in the barn restaurant, loved the fact you can position the caravan how you like on the pitch, nice walks, close to park and ride for Cambridge.

Nice well kept site, clean facilities and friendly welcome from reception staff. Lovely and quiet and has a lovely restaurant on site if you want to spoil yourself or just get a drink.

Distance to toilets from non electric tent pitch especially on way back to tent it is a very steep up hill climb, shame there isn't toilets closer, but that's really the only thing
