Perfect location - short driving distance to Keswick. Surrounded by so many beautiful walks. Very friendly and accommodating. Basic facilities (toilet, showers and washing up) were clean and well stocked for a camp site!

Great hosts, really accommodating, chilled and friendly. Good email communication when I had some questions before travelling up. They even kindly took in some parcels for us (our food box and our mini speaker).
The field is really well kept and stayed pretty sturdy even after a few bouts of rain.
The toilets were pretty good for camping pop up toilets, yep they were stinky as heck but they were cleaned each day and emptied at least every few days. They were those kind of pop up posh flushing toilets in cubicles that had chemicals instead of water. With water and soap for handwashing and always a decent stock of hand tissues for drying. Always well stocked with bog roll too.
The showers are decent, and even though there were only 4 for the whole campsite, we only found ourselves queuing twice in the 6 days we were there. Plenty of hot water too.
The location of the campsite is really handy in walking distance of Catbells, Hawes activity centre and a really nice pub.
The campsite hires out fire pits with wood (although we took our own pit we did end up getting some extra wood from the hosts which was super handy). Most mornings there was a coffee wagon that sold bacon butties, crepes and decent coffee (and more), and in the evenings a local ice cream van pitched up for an hour or two.
Really great campsite and the other campers there were really pleasant too.
Also the views around are amazing, but thats not hard when youre smack bang in the middle of the Lakes!
Great campsite, great hosts - very much recommend to all.
    (Also doggo friendly)

    Disliked:

A one dislike but nothing major given we went during school hols and it being a family friendly campsite.

Kids kicking balls into the side of the tent and running through our designated area - but most of them listened when asked nicely not to or to move further away. Was only really a bother when cooking and having hot stuff around, but would prefer those light plastic balls than heavy synthetic leather ones flying around.

Hi Karl,

Thanks for your review!

We have a big skip across the road for rubbish we would of pointed you in the right direction!

We keep the skip away to try and keep the flies down! 😊

Amazing staff, so attentive and accommodating to any requests and questions. Really kind and friendly environment. Beautiful setting and close to the local pub, beautiful scenic walks and a short walk (1mile) to the near by boat taxi that can take you to Keswick and other locations off the lake. Ice cream van and coffee can come at times in the day which is great for a wee treat or hot brew just when needed.

I am aware that this is a personal experience and others are unlikely to have a similar.
I was stopping over for one night between two days of hiking. My plan was for an early start the following day so I went to bet at 10:30 to read - and all was fine. At 11:30pm I was woken by my tent being completely lit up - two wars parked up next to me. They then proceeded to pitch up 3 tents literally 1 meter from my pitch. The noise of setting up (using mallets, moving equipment etc.) continued until around 1am. I then managed to get back to sleep... and then they started to snore! I've never heard anything like it - I had my earbuds in playing music and I could still here them. I ended up leaving my tent and trying to sleep in my car. In total I slept for about 2 hours and it ruined my trip.

Whilst the snoring was outwith the sites control - allowing people to pitch up so late is. And if you are going to accept people so late - keep them away from everyone else (the site was only half they could have been instructed to pitch up in a quiet corner.
