Beautiful site with uninterrupted fantastic sea views over Cardigan bay and the best sunsets I have ever seen. Direct beach access but it’s steep and quite a rocky beach with no lifeguard. Lovely hydrangeas everywhere and toilets and showers were clean and always had hot water. Lots of room on the Peregrine hard standing with a bonus picnic table on the pitch.

    Disliked:

Unfortunately the hard standings are not level enough for a motorhome so ramps needed not a problem, however the gravel on each pitch is so deep it was almost impossible for the ramps not to slip. We needed an extra breeze block and piece of wood to extend the ramps which was precarious in a relatively small motorhome. We have also wrecked a brand new pair of ramps and the gravel got very imbedded in our new tyres. The peregrine pitches over look the fantastic children’s play area, however not fantastic for those without children, who spent most of the day screaming and rolling things down the slide, to be fair to the wardens as soon as dusk fell they went and sent all the children back to their parents and cleared it but shame the best and most expensive pitches on the site with the best views are tainted by unsupervised children.

From the manager...

Thank you very much for sharing your personal opinion from your recent stay with us on one of our peregrine hardstanding pitches.
We are so glad that every aspect that we advertise was to your liking, our rocky beach, sunsets, flowering gardens and hot clean showers.
Our pitches are able to take a large motorhome or campervan, with every make and model being different, some campervans have a high rear end and require ramps even on a tarmac area.
Pretty sure that if you had let our touring field wardens know you were having issues then they could have suggested to move side ways or long ways on the pitch as it is as mentioned a large enough pitch to try different angles without struggling to level up.
As much as we try, unsupervised children will always be a topic for discussion amongst every park warden and couples who holiday on family holday parks during the school holidays.

    Disliked:

Lack of information for walks, cycle routes, etc. No maps.

From the manager...

Thank you for your recent review of your stay with us on one of our Peregrine hardstanding pitches.
We are so please you enjoyed our park facilities, we are so proud of our garden areas and pleased with our park wardens.
A little surprised that you did not use the information within our games lounge on local attractions which include cycle trails and walks, the easiest being the coast path which runs through our park, 3 miles to Aberystwyth and 6 miles or so the Llanrhystud.
We even have a supply of ordnance survey maps for loan to anyone who does not come prepared with prior research before booking and staying with us.

De weg naar de camping is een drama erg smal 2.5 mile lang met weinig passeer mogelijkheden

From the manager...

Thank you again.

We came with our 4 boys of all ages from 1 to 15. The saviour of the holiday was the pool. It was great and the boys thoroughly enjoyed being in it. The view we had from our camp spot was also beautiful and spot on.

    Disliked:

Not really about the holiday park as they can't help this but the weather let us down. Too much wind for us if the weather is gloom for a little over clouded.

Thank you Catherine for you review of your recent family stay with us on one of our Ketrel campervan pitches.
It looks like we did all that we could do apart from supplying a giant umberella !
It doesn't always rain in Wales as you will see if you get to visit us again.

This campsite has beautiful views over the sea, camp was nice and spacious, staff were nice and helpful, amenities was clean and tidy,

    Disliked:

The camp is situated down a 2 mile two way narrow road which is dangerous when you have two way traffic and not many cut in to move over, they should make the road one way as it is nerve wracking and off putting to revisit this camp
There is nothing around within walking distance and no safe bike path either , if you stay here you definitely need a car as we only had a motorhome this was difficult to get around. No firepit allowed but they allow BBQ which is abit strange so we had a fire on the beach which is near
The camp isn't well lit of a nighttime and coming up from the beach is very dark so needed torches.
    WiFi very expensive too.

From the manager...

Thank you Rachel for your slightly confusing review of your recent stay with us on one of our Peregrine hardstanding pitches.
We thank you for acknowledging our amazing location with peace and quiet, panoramic sea views and lots of space, the stars reach all the way down to the sea with no light pollution.
The confusion lays with your expectations of what you found, we advertise as being off the beaten track some 2 and half miles on a single track lane from the main road with the enphasis on arrival times and departure times to aid access, the main lane being a public highway is not under the control of the holiday park much similar to a lot of quiet secluded parks up and down the country.
The Wales coastal path runs through the park and is a short 3 mile work to Aberystwyth, with the roadway only being 5 miles, but 2 miles to the nearest cycle route.
We make a point to ask people, if they are going to be out and about after dark, which is after 10pm at the minute, to bring a torch.
Our atmosphere and peace is helped by not having campfires, firepits or chimineas on every pitch so there are places to sit without the smoke and the subsequent late night revellery associated with a sit around the fire, which we encourage beach fires as long as things are tidied afterwards.
The option of the wifi is for those who do still need to stay in contact woith the outside world, as there are a lot of 4g hotspots for varying operators around the park the wifi option which is controlled externally is not obligatory.
Hopefully as with most of our returning customers we are the ideal spot to relax and unwind, bringing everything you need for your stay and watching those beautiful sunsets and the night sky as it turns from red to purple to black and the stars are like a pincushion without the light pollution to spoil it all.

Everything! We camped and the spot had a lovely view, everything was close by. We went in July and unlike other campsites we've stayed at, everyone took note of the quiet time. Evenings were chilled and very friendly. We were right next to the electric hook up and water (their own spring) which was even more fantastic.

The shower and toilet block was great, yes, people have moaned about the shower heat - I didn't have a problem, I just held it down until it heated up - not an issue. There are little bucket type things hanging in the shower where you can put your shampoo etc. I found this a really nice touch. Lots of space to get changed and they had a family/accessible area too. All was very clean and the music was fab.
They also have a laundry which is free vend, they sell the washing 'stuff' in reception which I think is also a fantastic touch.
The outdoor heated pool!! WOW!! there was rain (I know shocking in summer! LOL) on the Saturday so we went in the pool, it's clear covered with big openable windows, and to be in the warm water listening and seeing the rain hit the windows - wow, was really fabulous!! And it's a great size too.
Games room too is also a great touch, with sofas and TV too, again a surprise and a great thing to have. Woodland walk and close to the beach. If you have mobility issues, the walk down to the beach may be an issue to you, but there are plenty of others close by and to be honest, the views and the site is magnificent so if you don't get down there, it won't impact your stay.
This was our first time here but it won't be our last. Blooming brilliant site.
The map and useful information given to you on arrival is great and really useful, as it states :-)
And yes, you have to pay for Wi-Fi, £15 for 3 days for up to 4 devices - pretty good I'd say and it was a great service too.

    Disliked:

Not a dislike - I would recommend taking the first right turn when you seen the Morfa Bychan sign as that's a little more straight forward, we took the second and it was a little faffy but the scenery was wonderful.

Also, not a dislike, the pool rules, these and other useful information is given to you on arrival is great, however, the pool rules weren't anywhere in the pool area. This, I would say would be a great place for them as there were a number of people doing all the don'ts and without the rules being in view, nothing much can be done.

From the manager...

Thank you very much for your in depth review from your recent camping stay with us.
It is good to see you have highlighted all of your positives for everyone else to see and take on board.
We pride on giving a good service as mucha s we are able to, nothing we can do about the weather but this did not spoil your stay with us.
As you enter the pool area there is a notice board with the pool rules visible for all to see, we thought it was big enough but if you missed it on entering then maybe we need to get another one made and positioned.
Unfortunately, human nature will mean that no matter how many signs you have, no matter how many times some people are spoken to there will always be some who do not think they need to be responsible for their own actions.
We look forward to seeing you again.
