Clean toilet / shower block' helpful owner . And very reasonable price wise. That's all you can ask

It is a gorgeous small tent pit with a lovely climate. The owner who is running it puts a lot of effort to keep it green in colour and have a lovely culture. Smaller and bigger dedicated areas makes you feel a bit separated and in comfort from other people but not really displaced. Lovely place with friendly staff. Would consider going back.

There isn't enough of hot water for you to manage to clean all dishes or have a hot shower.
Facilities are somewhere near to clean but not great.
No activities for children.

The pitch and site was superb. Very well looked after and a good find. There is a pub next door which is very handy to wind down after a busy day. Some reviews mention the main road close by, however we never really heard any passing traffic. Great site!

Only one mail toilet. Site when we stayed was not that busy however if camping or you don’t have facilities in van, could be interesting! Not a reason not to visit!

Lovely site with sectioned pitches. The pub next door does wonderful food and is dog friendly. Two miles drive to a beautiful reservoir .

Only down side is the proximity to a main A road. It doesn't keep you awake but is noticeable for lorries passing.

The view was beautiful.
The pitches were spacious and had fences between them, to give a bit of privacy.
The facilities were clean and well maintained

This was our first visit as we wanted somewhere local to try out our new equipment. We only stayed one night but have already started looking at dates to come back for 2-3 nights.
Really like how the pitches are numbered so that you can comfortably have a level of privacy and they are somewhat enclosed which is helpful for the dogs.
Toilets & showers are impressively clean for a campsite and the warm welcome was a nice touch.
There is a decent walk around the Derwent Reservoir, which we are looking forward to doing again but further this time.
We are both on different mobile contracts (EE & O2) and neither had issues with signal either.
We will definitely be coming back before the end of the year!

Pitch was a good size. Surroundings were lovely.
Host was welcoming.
Lovely looking pub right next door (although we didn't try).
Good base to get to Derwent Reservoir or Hexham.

Whilst the toilet block was ok, it was pretty small. Loos ran out of paper 9pm to 7am.
Appreciate it isn't forever but the site does look like a building site at the entrance due to a new property being built.
We thought the pitch was advertised with fire pit but no fire pit available.
Unsure the justification for £5 per dog to stay.

Individual pitch space and fenced off
Owner advised us of a good way to walk to the derwent reservoir which we did fabulous day .

Only 1 wash up sink
And only 1 mens toilets
Grounds could be a little better ie weeds and borders around pitch tidier. But had a lovely stay.

Friendly welcome. Spacious, level, pitch and able to park car next to tent on firm ground. Well spaced between pitches. Amazing views across the Pennines. Nice pub on the doorstep. Footpath leading down to Derwent reservoir. Lots of space for kids to run around. Loved that you could use barbecues and light fires. Quiet,tranquil atmosphere. Clean showers and toilets with soap and toilet paper provided. Clean washing up area. All in all a lovely, inexpensive campsite

Bit too close to the A68 which can be noisy. There is however, a quite deep planting of trees, which when more mature, will shield the site. There are two showers in the toilet block but appear that only one can be used at a time due to water pressure. I had to shout through the wall to my daughter to take turns in pressing the shower button- this worked ok . This could be remedied with a pump i think. Minor issues
