Take the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad through the San Juan peaks, stopping off at the museum in Durango, or let your jaw drop at spectacular Cliff Palace, part of the 4,000+ Ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites in the Mesa Verde National Park. The Wheeler Geologic Area, Rio Grande Reservoir headwaters, San Luis Valley and over 255 miles of trails and 17 miles of award-winning fishing spots are also accessible from the park.
