Stopping over in Silverton for a day or two, or looking for a base for a longer Texas break? Either way, you’ll get a warm welcome at Silver Wind RV Park and Cabins, a small family-run park just on the edge of town. This is a strategic location for a holiday park – it’s close to the junction of highways 86 and 207, and it’s close to the small town’s amenities, including shops, banks, cafés and places to eat. As for exploring the local area, you’ll be well placed for that as well – scenic spots like Caprock Canyons State Park and Palo Duro Canyon are close by, as are attractions including the Jimmy Dean Museum and Buddy Holly Center. Silver Wind is a dog-friendly place that also welcomes families and has a playground where kids can let off a bit of steam, plus a cornhole game and horseshoe pit for a bit of family fun. You’re welcome to set up a barbecue if you like, but for easy meals you might prefer to choose something from the tempting menu at the on-site food truck, the Briscoe Bite. Other park facilities include wifi, a laundry room and a modern bath house with restrooms and showers.
