For a true taste of Georgia, visit Cordele RV Park, a 28-acre campground located only 4 miles from the historic Cordele, the watermelon capital of the world. The campsite is shaded by pecan and pine trees, the ideal place for a siesta on a hot summer day. There is also a large seasonal swimming pool open from mid-May to mid-September (weather permitting). On-site fishing is permitted in the pond stocked with perch, bream and catfish. Customers also have full access to a communal pavilion: prepare a barbecue, build a campfire and join fellow campers for a bit of fun. With extra large sites suitable for the biggest rigs (up to 100ft) this is a great stopping off point on your way through Georgia or a great place to stay for a longer visit.

Local attractions

The campground is conveniently located off the I-75. Watersports including boating, fishing and waterskiing are available in Lake Blackshear. The SAM Shortline train takes you around President Jimmy Carter's former campaign headquarters in Plains and his boyhood home in Archery. It will also pass through Americus, a former bustling cotton exchange area. The campground is also located 40 miles west of Andersonville National Historic Site, the location of the Confederate prison camp. During the summer season, you can visit watermelon and strawberry farms and shop at a number of farmers' markets.
