A setting only 70 metres from the warm shallow waters and white sands of Voramar Beach is pretty Spanish special in itself for Castellon's Camping Azahar – but add in its direct access to the Via Verde coastal path linking Benicàssim and Oropesa and you're onto a Spanish winner. Pedal the five and half kilometre route of the Via Verde or wander the mere kilometre to yet more sands at the holiday resort of Benicàssim (sí, this is where the famed four-day FIB music festival takes place each summer). Back at base, this family-friendly site has all you need set up for family holidays, including a seasonal outdoor pool, a toddlers' pool, a playground and a snack bar-restaurant. Amenities are sorted at the modern facilities block with toilets and free hot showers; a small shop and a laundry room are also on site.

Great spot near the beach, with super friendly staff. Loved the clean pool, bar & restaurant. Facilities are clean but a bit dated. Some found tent pegging tricky & pitches uneven. Bar closes early. Manager's aware of feedback.

Música en directo los sábados, Jam Session los jueves....un ambiente fantástico para cenar o tomar algo con los amigos. Reportaremos tu comentario para ver si se puede ampliar el periodo de apertura durante la temporada media.

Liked Tolle Lage, ein wunderschöner Strand ist fußläufig. Mit dem Fahrrad kann man eine lohnenswerte Tour in den nächsten Ort machen. Man hat eine super Sicht auf das Meer und die Bucht

Disliked Der CP ist wirklich in die Jahre gekommen.
Es ist zwar überall einigermaßen sauber aber es wird Zeit das renoviert wird!!!!!! Einparken auf dem Platz ist nicht ganz einfach da überall recht hohe Kanten sind.

Liked The site was well maintained and had plenty to of other things to do, paddle tennis, ping-pong, kids parks, bicycle hire. We also enjoyed the wetlands and the wildlife watching. On site restaurant is very nice

Disliked We initially booked this site because it came up from a search for Tarragona. It's no where near Tarragona so don't make the same mistake. The nearby town of L'amporra is very quiet.

Liked The pool and bar are great. In good condition and with lots of space. We went in October, so it was off-season and it wasn't too busy but still just hot enough to go in the pool. The toilets and showers are a little bit out of date but were very clean and with lots of space.

Disliked The pitches were very small. It seemed to us that it was more like a carpark for camper vans. We were in a large tent and because it was off-season we managed to find a pitch with no one either side but I would imagine that in summer it would be very cramped.

Local attractions

There's a whole heap to do around Camping Azahar, whether you want to stay sandy and explore the coastal area on foot, or drive further afield to the likes of Valencia just under an hour away. Morella, Vall d'Uixo and Vinaroz are also within easy reach. Benicàssim a kilometre away is well worth a look even if you're not planning to be around for the FIB fest, as the five award-winning beaches here are rightly famed in the region: do gaze up at the mountains towering above as you lie on part of the six kilometres of sand… The city of Valencia is also a must, for more than can be fitted in here, but especially for its central market, cathedral, harbour, yet more beaches and the 15th-century Llotja de la Seda. If you're around with kids, the aquarium and the City of Arts and Sciences attraction should be smashingly successful hits.
