If you’re fond of a wildlife-themed wander, the Sant Llorenç del Munt i Serra de l'Obac Natural Park a scenic half an hour’s drive away, is a top spot for wildlife watchers, as its rocky escarpments, caves and holm oak and pine groves are home to more than 200 species. To explore a bit more of Catalonia’s history, around the locale are several famed ancient monuments like Spain’s most significant medieval fortress, the hilltop Castle of Cardona, 45 minutes’ drive to the north of La Tatgera, and the mountaintop monastery of Montserrat, 45 minutes’ drive to the south. Hit up Sitges for a beach party vibe, or take a more relaxed approach and sample fresh seafood at the historic fishing village of Sant Sebastià.
