What a super setting has Camping Estrella De Mar in the municipality of Castelldefels. Here come the numbers… five kilometres of sandy Med beach and ten kilometres of promenade are just 400 metres from the site; it's five minutes from the kitesurfing, canoeing and sky surfing of the Canal Olímpic – and it's a paltry 15-minute drive/40-minute bus ride to splendid Barcelona. And here's a numero uno too, for the site is in a woodland setting, in one of the biggest pine forests in Castelldefels. The friendly team here goes out of its way to help ensure guests have a smashingly relaxed Spanish holiday among tiptop levels of customer service and modern facilities: there's a paddling pool as well as a main outdoor pool, a café for bites and drinks, paid-for wifi and a play area. Guests can order bread for brekkie the next day. Camping Estrella De Mar's well-kept amenities include toilets, rainfall-style showers, a launderette, disabled facilities and a washing-up area. Friendly staff are also on-hand to help out.

Liked Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Stellplätze sind gut. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt um sich Barcelona anzusehen. Die Bushaltestelle ist in der Nähe.

Disliked Die sanitären Anlagen sind in die Jahre gekommen und sind renovierungsbedürftig.

Liked Nähe zum Bus nach Barcelona, Übergang Strand fußläufig zu erreichen auch gut mit dem Fahrrad zu machen, saubere Anlagen.

Disliked Fluglärm, unaufgeräumt mit Sperrmüll vor den Mobilhomes, ein Verwüsteter Zeltplatz. Das Restaurant erscheint etwas lieblos geführt.

Liked Sehr schön gepflegter Campingplatz… sauber und man kann da auch sein Auto komplett abkärchern. Was man so sonst nirgends findet. Es gibt ein Supermarkt der gut bestückt ist. Die Bar ist im Oktober nur nicht besetzt. Somit im Oktober sehr ruhig. Zum Strand sind es ca 10 geh min über eine Brücke gut zu laufen. Sehr gepflegte Strandpromenade. Kaum Shops

Disliked Sehr viele Dauer Camper. Also nur in den Wintermonaten sehr ruhig.

Route directions

Driving: Take the C-31 to Castelldefels. Take the exit signposted Km 16.7 approximately 1km before the Canal Olimpic. Follow signposts to the site. By bus: Take L94 departing from Plaça Catalunya (Barcelona centre). It leaves you in front of the entrance. By train: From Sants-Estació or Passeig de Gràcia take RENFE to Castelldefels.

As enthusiastically mentioned, Camping Estrella De Mar is in a super setting, whether you want to lounge around on a sandy white Mediterranean beach, get (slightly) active in a sporty or watersporty manner, or have cultured (and nightclubby) days and evenings out in busy Barcelona. A short walk away are five kilometres of beach and ten kilometres of promenade for strolling, skating, jogging and sitting watching the sunset through one's cocktail flagon at one of the several beachside bars and restaurants. If you fancy an indoor/till ringing day, a shopping mall is a short drive from the site. Within five minutes of the site is the Canal Olímpic, host to the canoe sprint events of the 1992 Olympics and now a venue for all sorts of sports of water and air: take to the canal for canoeing or kitesurfing, or skid above it Marty McFly-like for a spot of sky surfing among the clouds.
