With palm trees dotted across the park and an Andalusia beachfront location, Alcorrín's Camping La Bella Vista – a 20-minute walk from the seaside resort of Puerto de La Duquesa on the Costa del Sol – is a splendid seaside spot where pitches are shaded by established palm, plane and eucalyptus trees. Laze on a lounger at the beachfront swimming pool or on Playa El Castillo beach, getting up to order cocktails at the site's outdoor bar and food at the restaurant. Fill your belly with tasty food while looking out at the Mediterranean Sea through the big windows, or bag a table and chairs on the terrace out in the open air for a drink while you look out at a stunning sunset. For indoor imbibing, a lounge bar serving beers, wines and spirits (with a wide TV if you need your television fix…) is on site as well. More into exploring than eyeing up screens while on a hol? Ask at reception about organising trips around local hotspots such as the British territory of Gibraltar (45 minutes’ drive) and the glitzy seaside resort of Marbella (40 minutes). Quiz them about walking trails, scuba diving, sailing, fishing, paragliding and horse riding tours too – all are available in the local area. To feel the sea breeze on your face, wander for 10 minutes along the beachfront promenade towards the fishing village of Castillo de la Duquesa, continuing on for another 10 minutes to Puerto de La Duquesa for a pretty marina lined with bars, restaurants and cafés. Stop off here for paddles at Playa de la Colonia beach – it’s a sandy stretch of coast with a playground for the kids. Camping La Bella Vista has modern, high-quality facilities including individual showers with 24-hour hot water, family bathrooms, disabled facilities, washing machines and dryers. A well-stocked supermarket selling essentials and camping supplies is also at the park.

This site’s close to some of Andalusia’s loveliest villages and towns, like the whitewashed Estepona (20-minute drive) – head here for shopping in the Puerto Deportivo area and to potter along the Paseo Marítimo promenade before rocking up to weekly market selling local food, drinks and crafts. To get in a bit of golf after moseying around the stalls, the La Duquesa Golf Country Club (a five-minute drive) is a scenic course in the vineyard region of Manilva with views over Gibraltar and North Africa. Wanting water-based pursuits instead? Organise a dolphin safari by boat from Veleros Turisticos, a 20-minute drive away, or saturate yourself in the Roman-era Baños Romanos de la Hedionda hot springs (10 minutes from the site).

Liked Tolle Lage, direkt am Strand (ist über ein privates Tor mit Code erreichbar). Der kleine Hafen mit zahlreichen Restaurants ist an der Promenade / Fußgängerzone entlang fußläufig erreichbar (ca. 900 m) oder mit dem Fahrrad in 5 Minuten. Gute Ausflugsmöglichkeiten nach Tarifa, Gibraltar oder Ronda mit dem Auto. Tolles Einkaufscenter La Cañada nach 35 Minuten Autofahrt erreichbar.

Disliked Liegt direkt an der Autoroute AP7 und entsprechend ist der sichere Weg zu Supermärkten nur über kleine Brücken möglich.

Liked Location - on the beach . Gated access to prom and a 10min walk to the small marina surrounded by bars and restaurants. Dog friendly. A lovely beach for swimming even in November. Very welcoming on arrival, easy check in. Good shop on site for essentials and fresh bread delivered every morning . Showers and toilet facilities excellent: also each pitch as its own electric and water . Site is quiet and beautifully laid out with palm trees it has quite a tropical feel to it

Disliked A bit of road noise as it is on a busy highway , but this is offset by the beautiful beach and sound of the sea. Standard pitches are small, we have a VW California which just fits
