  • Scenic setting near La Carlota, under 30 kilometres from Córdoba
  • Pool, paddling pool, playground, mini farm and miniature golf
  • Bar-restaurant with café, lounge and two terraces
A friendly environment, scenic setting and mini farm for the kids are what's on offer at comfy and modern Camping Carlos III in Andalusia, under 30 kilometres from Córdoba and an hour's drive from Seville. It's a kilometre from the town of La Carlota, named after Carlos III (the king, not the site…) and a handy place for shops and restaurants. There are lots of cute creatures to meet at the mini farm, and kids' activities run throughout high season. Also around to keep all out of mischief are a miniature golf course, tennis, pétanque and padel courts, a large fenced playground and a pool and paddling pool (both open from June to September) with a spacious terrace alongside. The bar-restaurant has a café, a lounge and two terraces, one of which overlooks the pool. It serves local food and barbecued meats from a la carte and menus of the day. A mini supermarket is also on site.

Powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Travelling with my mum. Toilets block clean and tidy. And with loo roll and paper towels. Park up area was a good space, plenty room at side of van. Pool area was great as was the pool. There was another area at bottom of site loads of shade from the trees also. Dogs are welcome and several places to walk. We did not walk into town as had driven through by mistake and it was very quiet. Plus this was only a stop over. Great for getting back on our route.

Powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Quiet site, flat pitches, lovely pool and bar with snacks etc. Bus stops outside site gates to go into Cordoba. Staff friendly, facilities clean. Would recommend.

Disliked: Not much else to do in the area once we’d been to Cordova as we like to walk or use public transport rather than take the campervan off site, but that’s not a dislike merely our view.

Liked: Staff were very nice toilets & showers very clean

Disliked: There are static pitches that are used by locals who allow their children to run riot also they rented out some of their cabins to about 20 or more construction workers who had a party until about 1 o'clock in the morning, right next to our motorhome

Local attractions

In the south west of the Córdoba province, the municipality of La Carlota is recognised for its cultural highlights by the Junta de Andalucia and is stuffed with old monuments, as well as archaeological sites from the Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age. Take the camera around town to the Real Posada y Fonda, the Casas de Colonos or settlers' homes, the Government's Subdelegate Palace and the Church of Purísima Concepción, and then to the market square at Plaza del Mercado de Abastos to try the local dishes. Córdoba, 28 kilometres from Camping Carlos III, should be a definite destination for its ancient sites; it was once a Roman base, then is thought to have been the most populous city in the world around the eighth century under its Moorish rule.
