Glamping Franse Peer

There are lots of great places to get out into natural surroundings here – two favourites are the IJsseldelta National Landscape, dotted with polders and sea dykes, and the Weerribben-Wieden National Park, with a variety of watery ecosystems (peatlands, reed beds and canals) that are home to wildlife including birds and otters. Both are a half-hour drive away, and walking, cycling and watersports (canoeing and paddleboarding) are great ways to explore. City life is just as attractive, as the nearby Hanseatic cities have been well preserved for a great sense of heritage. Stroll along the canal paths in Hasselt (20 minutes’ drive), see the Sassenpoort and Nederlands Bakkerij Museum in Zwolle (half an hour) and get lost among the alleys and gates of Kampen (half an hour). Family days out nearby might include Dino Land Zwolle (half an hour), which has both indoor and outdoor attractions, or a trip to Walibi Holland (50 minutes) for rides and shows for all ages. Big kids might also enjoy a trip through technology heritage at Bonami Games & Computers Museum (35 minutes).
