Uranus powered sand campsite

Liked A very neat and clean campsite. The ablutions are good, with hot water. We had sufficient firewood at the site, and the staff checked in daily to make sure everything was good. We enjoyed the trails and hiked up to the lookout/stargazer's pad on our last evening to watch the amazing night sky. There are plenty of game around too.
The lodge is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Local attractions

Stargazing by night and hiking, photography, tours and mountain biking by day... this is a splendid spot for the lot, as well as for longer trips or overnighters to Namibian destinations such Saswakopmund, Sossusvlei/Sesriem and local mountain pass routes. Like the rest of the country, this is a stellar wildlife watching region too, where you'll be able to spy zebras and ostriches around the ranch, and where species of all sorts roam around the Gamsberg Nature Reserve just under an hour east. The reserve is also the setting for the Gamsberg mountain with that topping stargazing on its plateau; by day, clamber to its flat top for spectacular views of the Khomas highlands. And then head west, to the vast and utterly spectacular Namib-Naukluft National Park, a region the size of Switzerland that includes the Nambib Desert; Namibia's most visited destination Sossusvlei, and the highest sand dunes on the planet: all a must-see.
