As you can see from the pics, you can certainly see the Ziernsee from Campingplatz am Ziernsee – and that’s because this spacious six-hectare site is right on the lake’s banks, in a quiet meadow five minutes’ drive from the little Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania town of Priepert. The peaceful rural Mecklenburg-Pomerania site is surrounded by woods to walk or ride bikes in, and there’s plenty more space for such pursuits nearby, either in the watery surrounds of the Mecklenburg Lake District (which surrounds the place) or the huge wildlife haven of the Müritz National Park, a half-hour drive away. A splendid feature of this part of the world is that its many local lakes are connected with little waterways, making it a fine idea to hire small boats or canoes on site for a day paddling your way through as many as you fancy. Too energetic? Stick around on site to sunbathe at the little beach area, swim in the cool waters or simply daydream while dangling your feet off the wooden boat dock. If you haven’t worn out the kids with all the paddling and swimming activity, there’s a playground and volleyball court on site for them to expend a bit of energy. Other amenities include a food shop, a launderette and a spacious bathroom block with plenty of toilets and showers to keep everyone clean.

Duschen, Toilette und Abwaschen waren gut.

Disliked Zu dicht am Abwasser, da es morgens um 8 Uhr abgepummt wurde.

Liked Wir haben es sehr genossen Mitten im Wald am See zu sein....konnten Kanutouren Machen und Pilze sammeln für das Abendbrot... Brötchen konnte man für den folge tag bestellen und das nötigste konnte man auch in dem Kleinen Shop bekommen.... insgesamt war es besser als gedacht 30 min von der schönen Stadt Neustrelitz Weg (besuchen lohnt) war es sehr schön und was mir deutlich aufgefallen ist weit und breit keine Windkraft Anlagen zu sehen ...wir waren mit Einem Autodachzelt da

Die Betreiber sind nett .

Disliked Da die Dauercamper die besten Plätze mit Seeblick haben , bleiben für die anderen nicht Dauercamper nur ein Platz in der dritten Reihe . Und der Blick fällt dann auf die überdachten , nicht immer schönen , alten Wohnwagen.
WLAN war eine Katastrophe.

Local attractions

Boats, bikes and hiking boots could easily fill many a day around here – the Mecklenburg Lake District is sometimes known as the ‘land of a thousand lakes’, after all, and the Müritz National Park (half an hour’s drive) stretches out to 32,000 hectares. If your muscles are suffering a tad after all such efforts, take to the Templin thermal baths (45 minutes’ drive) to wallow in the warm waters. Take a break from all the activity to admire the gorgeous exhibits at Märkisches glass museum or wander around the castle in Mirow; both are around half an hour away by car. Neustrelitz (also half an hour away) is another good day trip spot: the baroque-style castle gardens are splendid for a stroll, and there’s a little zoo in town too. Gather up budding cowgirls/cowboys and take them over to the El Dorado Western-style theme park (50 minutes) for pony rides, face painting and instruction in the art of wielding a bow and arrow. If you’d like to encourage a few months of good behaviour, stop by at Himmelpfort Christmas House (25 minutes) as well – Santa’s not here in summer but kids can get their Christmas list sorted (and they’ll have more of an incentive to stay off the naughty list…)
