Heading for the Côte d’Azur, but hoping to avoid the crush right down on the coast? Get ahead of the crowd and book your billet at Camping Le Val Fleuri, tucked into a verdant Alpes-Maritime hillside 10 minutes’ drive from the Riviera town of Cagnes-sur-Mer. Spread over two hectares of lushly landscaped parkland, the campsite is shaded from the summer sun by mature trees. You can top up your tan on the swimming pool’s sundeck – with gorgeous hill views all around – and top up on good food at the licensed snack bar open in the evening. There’s a takeaway service too for when you’d rather eat en famille back at your accommodation. If you’re keen to get out discovering Côte d’Azur beaches and glamorous coastal resorts, reception staff are on hand to advise you on where to go and what to see. And as far as practicalities go, modern shower blocks (with disabled access) are a reliable source of hot water, and there’s a laundry room with a washing machine so you can keep on top of housework.

Liked: Relaxed atmosphere. Very efficient & friendly management staff. Proficiency in speaking English. Laundry & domestic wash-up facilities

Disliked: Shower/plumbing difficulties; being repaired - slowly -during stay. Off-season bus service necessitated expenditure on taxi services.

Liked: Pool Shady pitches Good showers and nice hot water for washing up

Disliked: Limited reception opening hours: closed from 13.40 to 5 and not very informative. We worked out how to use the bus service in the end but those who don’t speak French may struggle No bread/croissant ordering service No loo paper-bring your own

Liked: Es un lugar muy tranquilo. Ideal para visitar Niza y sus alrededores. Muy bien conectado con la red de autobuses que es muy fiable y eficiente.

Disliked: Lo malo es que está a ambas partes de la carretera, no utilicé la piscina. La gente entra con su coche a cualquier hora de la madrugada.

Liked: Mi è piaciuto perché è un posto veramente tranquillo con ampie piazzole per le tende e pulizia generale ottima, personale gentile e cordiale e posto auto incluso nel prezzo. L’unica cosa che secondo me andrebbe un po’ migliorata sono le docce in quanto l’acqua calda a volte si interrompe e inserire dei sensori di movimento per le luci in quanto dopo le 23:00 se uno volesse farsi una doccia la deve fare al buio perché le luci si spengono… Pero nel complesso un bel campeggio!

Disliked: Reception always closed, never opened on time Pitch was poor had broken glass all over it, too small to pick up Swimming pool was slimy, left residue on skin Miles from nearest town and shops Bar/snack bar was only a very limited snack bar or cans of drink Very poor and we left early and they refused to refund night we didn’t use

Liked: Dat wij heel makkelijk naar Nice konden fietsen. Rustige camping en nette camping Engels spreken op receptie.

Disliked: Onze plaats was vrij klein. Nadeel dat receptie erg lang gesloten was. Tot 17 uur. Andere camping 12 uur weg en hebben 3 uur moeten wachten voor dat wij op camping konden.
