Liked: We had a lovely one night stay here. The facilities are basic but clean. You aren't being charged Ritz prices so don't expect too much. Patrick and his daughter Claire are lovely. We spent time with Patrick in his wine cellar tasting his family's cognac products. We managed to communicate OK with no English on his part and only basic French on ours. We would have stayed another night but we had a deadline to meet. We probably won't get a chance to return but we would stay again.

From the manager: Thank you very much Annie for your comment, we are grateful to you, you describe our campsite as we want everyone to know, a simple, family place, with no fuss... a traditional campsite!! We definitely want to keep this!! Thank you so much ! We hope that your stay in France continues well! See you maybe an other time Bye Claire

Liked: A warm welcome and a lovely small campsite in a beautiful rural area surrounded by cognac vineyards. Patrice and his family extended their hospitality by inviting us into their fascinating small cognac cellar/bar to sample their traditional family distilled cognac and pinaut 🥃

Liked: The area around the camping. Friendliness of the staff. Price. Level pitches with electricity close by. Cognac is a 10-minute drive, and the location is easy to access from the main autoroute. Very quiet with shade. Wine cave with free degustation and sales of owners' produce. A rural authentic French experience.
Disliked: Toilets could be better serviced. There is evidence of dog fouling on pitches and in the children's play area. There is a poorly serviced freshwater point at the back of the toilet block and maybe no dedicated campervan black, grey and freshwater point. Swimming pool separate from site. Several permanent cabins and the touring pitches are not well-defined. Reception is separate from the site. There is no evidence of any management oversight to keep obvious things in good order. This could be a perfect little campsite but needs investment and careful management.

From the manager: Hello Sean, I see that overall you had a good time during your overnight stay but that you don't want to come back to us, it's up to you!! For the rest, I take note, each comment can be useful! As for wastewater, this is to come, we are considering some development work to make the maintenance of camper vans more accessible!! As for the sanitary facilities, they are old for sure, but practical and cleaned every morning, in high season, by the cleaning staff!! As for the swimming pool, it is in fact in the family garden, full of flowers and accompanied by its veranda, 100 meters from the campsite, as specified on the internet!! We are present every day 24 hours a day, plus every evening we come to see all our campers!! A temporary absence may be, but our telephone numbers are indicated at the campsite (sanitary facilities) and at reception! If, however, during your next stays in other vacation spots, if you find a dirty place or if something does not suit you, please do not wait until you return from vacation, to indicate it in a comment, as you do it after each visit to a campsite!! The best would be to warn the owners, so that everyone can do what is necessary quickly, especially in terms of cleanliness and dog poops, which are indeed not very pleasant but which can be resolved immediately!! Best wishes Claire

Liked: Rustic site Great pool, children had a lovely time jumping in and out, aswell making friends with other children on site. Owners really friendly and welcoming. Bakery delivery available which we used most days and we did some wine tasting with the owner.
Disliked: Shower areas could be a bit cleaner, smelt of urine.

From the manager: Hello, thank you for your comment. Indeed, we had a week with a few children who sympathized well, there was a good atmosphere!! It's nice to see that teenagers like traditional camping!! As for the smell of the toilets, it's not normal... The girls do the cleaning every morning, but it can happen so don't hesitate to let us know so that we can fix it! See you next time !! Claire

Liked: Everything. The whole visit was so relaxed nestled in farmland between sunflowers and vines. Facilites are old but totally serviceable. The swimming pool is in its own garden area with a well looked after summerhouse. Site is level and although not the biggest area you still have privacy. Your hosts do not speak English but this isn't a bad thing, using the school French you learnt when you were 14 will get you through and they are patient and polite. Bread orders are normally taken by their daughter and are ready to collect in the morning. This is one of the sites that made us all say, while driving away, we wished we stayed longer.

Liked: We arrived late and only for one night as we're passing through. We received a warm welcome from the owners daughter who showed us various pitches we could choose from. Gratefully she spoke really good English. It is a small site but everyone was very friendly. The showers were fab, powerful and hot and everything was clean.
