  • Family-run site in Ardres, five minutes' walk from town centre
  • A 20-minute drive to Calais; half an hour to north-coast beaches
  • Private fishing pond on site; three minutes' walk from Lac d’Ardres
Quiet lakeside location for the peaceful vibes or handy town setting for the convenience of being able to walk to a shop? No need to choose when you’re staying at Camping Ardresien – this Nord-Pas-de-Calais site is in a particularly choice position in the town of Ardres, about five minutes’ walk from the town centre, which hosts summer night markets. In the other direction, it's just a three-minute walk from Lac d’Ardres (along a direct path), a popular spot for pedal boating, renting small boats, slurping on an ice cream or watching the annual July fireworks. This family-run site is a friendly and laidback site where pets and kids are welcome and pitches are quiet and well kept. A play area and pétanque court are on site, along with picnic tables where you can serve up your meals (cooked on a barbecue if you’d like to bring one along). The highlight for many people, though, is the private fishing pond, available for guests to use during their stay. The edge-of-town location is a very handy one that puts you just a few minutes’ walk from a good variety of shops and places to eat, along with other amenities like banks and a post office. Being about 20 minutes’ drive from Calais is another bonus on the location front too, as it puts cross-channel travellers within easy reach of the ferry port (and makes this site a good choice for a first or last night). The nearby coast isn’t all about ferries, of course – you’ll also be able to get to a nice sandy beach or a coastal nature reserve. Turning the other way, there are lots of walks and other outdoor activities in the Caps et Marais d’Opales Regional Natural Park.

What customers say

Clean, well-kept site with friendly owners. Great for channel crossings, close to town/lakes. Excellent showers. Note: entrance tight for larger vehicles, shower tokens and toilet paper needed. Manager addressing toilet paper feedback.

Power optional gravel and cement/asphalt campsite

Liked Lovely grounds within peaceful surroundings. While the campsite facilities (pool & bar) were not open this early in the season we still had an excellent stay, with excellent facilities for washing etc. The gentleman in reception was incredibly helpful & informative, offering to help arrange a vet appointment for our dog if needed for our return to the U.K. We initially booked for 2 nights but decided to extend our stay by another night. There is a handy supermarket 1 mile from the campground & we parked our motorhome in the carpark there without difficulty.

Disliked There is nothing about this site I disliked & we will definitely stay here again.

Power optional gravel and cement/asphalt campsite

Liked A pleasent surprise, nice campsite for an overnight stop back to Calais the consierge was a very helpful and freindly man.

Apart from the bad winds through the night disturbing our sleep it was just what we needed.

Perfect site for us and we def. would stay again.

Disliked Time on shower was a bit limited you may want to purchase 2 x tokens to get a decent shower but they were clean, nice and hot. No toilet seat which I get is a thing in France but personally I dont like it. So used our motorhome toilet.

Also remember to take in your toilet roll if you do use their toilets as they dont supply it.
