Liked: It’s a poor site, untidy and very dirty facilities. Pitch has a water hole covered in broken concrete which made it difficult to site.

Liked: Liked neat hedges and paved roadways. Vittel is a nice town with a lovely park. Good security at gate.

Disliked: Toilets didn't have toilet seats, site on a slope and shower timers short (20s).

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Roomy pitch, hard ground (great as it had rained a bit), nice staff, very clean looking camping, played music in the facilities

Disliked: Facilities were a bit awkward, toilets on the side where all the people were were closed and they were obviously not checked often as 2 toilets were never refilled with toilet paper.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: This was a lovely site: the pitches were substantial and private; the facilities were clean and well looked after (you don’t find many sanitary areas where music is playing!) You can order bread daily and there’s a regular visit from a grocer’s van and a pizza van. It’s also only a short walk into the town.

Local attractions

Spas, beauty salons and general facilities of the pampering variety are about a kilometre and a half away at Vittel, where you can book sessions to treat a range of ailments, or just to treat yourself after a long day's hiking around the region. Away from the spas, dip into the Vittel museum if you want to learn more about the heritage and spa history of the town, or spend some time in the casino if your newly rejuvenated self is feeling somewhat fortunate. There are four golf courses in town too, as well as an Olympic pool, tennis courts, miniature golf, paintballing and treetop adventuring. For walks in the region, take the 10-kilometre 'crown trail' (Circuit 9) through the forest surrounding the nearby town of Gironcourt-sur-Vraine, or make for Relanges for the marked circular path through the village and forest. At Contrexéville, under 15 minutes' drive away, have more forest hikes around 15,000 woodland hectares, or venture over to the lakes for boating, fishing and free summer swimming. Domrémy-la-Pucelle, the birthplace of Joan of Arc, is 45 minutes' drive away. The Château de Haroué is within the same distance, in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
