  • Relaxed 10-acre Limousin site in a pine forest near Palisse
  • Lake with beach and watersports 15 minutes' drive; hikes from the site
  • Two heated outdoor pools, plus snack bar, tennis court and bike hire
You’ll really be able to relax and soak up some fresh air and gorgeous natural surroundings at Camping Les Sapins de Corrèze – this laidback Limousin site is in the middle of a forest, with plenty of pine trees casting shade over guests to keep them cool. There’s almost 10 acres of land at this park a mile from the village of Palisse, so there's always somewhere peaceful to chill out. But there's also a good amount of activity to get involved with if that's more your style – the site has a tennis court, volleyball court, ping-pong tables and pétanque court as well as two heated outdoor pools. A playground is on hand to keep the kids busy, and everyone can hang out in the games/relaxation room if the weather's damp or you just need some downtime. High season sees even more activity on site, with sporting endeavours like archery, climbing and guided hikes running alongside weekly live music evenings. The snack bar is open every evening (from 4pm) during this time too (it's just open weekend evenings through the rest of the year). All manner of outdoor activities are available nearby, including watersports and fishing as well as scenic hikes and bike rides. Handily there's a tourist info point on site where you can get the lowdown on all the best things to see and do. Other useful facilities include a grocery store, a bread/pastries ordering service and a launderette.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: La piscine, l'accueil

Disliked: Les emplacements un peu trop petit pour notre tente et en pente

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Bonjour, Merci d'avoir partagée votre expérience chez nous. Effectivement nous avons 3, 4 emplacements qui sont légèrement en pente et la période à laquelle vous êtes venue, ne vous a pas permis de pouvoir choisir ou changer. Bonne continuation, Julie

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Fabulous site in the middle of a pine forest, very natural. Lovely atmosphere with mix of ages. Facilities were spotless. Lovely swimming pool and snack bar area - even had a band playing one evening which was a bonus. Would definitely recommend 😀👍

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Yes indeed out of our 38 campsites, there are 4 or 5 remaining which are not flat but with this rainy season, it has been a blessing to have them because the rainwater does not stagnate and these pitches remain passable for vans like yours. Unfortunately we couldn't offer you other locations with all the rain that fell during the week. We have just bought the campsite, this will indeed be something to improve in the future.

Fantastic- best on our trip.

Local attractions

Hikes and mountain bike outings leave from just outside the campsite – and if you've not brought your own bikes, you can hire them on site (with or without electrical assistance). A little further afield, you may like to explore the Gorges de la Dordogne (35 minutes' drive) or Plateau de Millevaches (20 minutes). For watersports like windsurfing, paddleboarding and waterskiing you’ll want to head to Lac de la Triouzoune (15 minutes), where you can also swim from the beach. Gentler water-based days might include fishing in the ponds at Lamazière-Basse (10 minutes) or taking a gabare trip on the Dordogne from Spontour (35 minutes). Soaking up a bit of the area's history might involve visiting the ruins of Château de Ventadour (25 minutes) or checking out the classic turrets of Château de Val (40 minutes). Meymac (20 minutes) is another good place for such things, with a 13th-century belfry, several half-timbered buildings and an abbey that's been transformed into a contemporary art centre.
