Liked: No

Disliked: We arrived from ireland at 7pm to stay in Camping de la Seine in our motorhome but were refused entry as it was CLOSED. money was paid and confirmation received but nobody there. Phoned owner but he simply refused & said he'd refund us. We had to drive another 3 hours before finding a truckstop to stay in. Absolutely disgusted. Never ever stay there.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Quiet, remote site with the unexpected joy of seeing large ships pass by, just metres away. This is a narrow part of the Seine, which links Rouen with Le Havre. Good shower/toilet facilities but a splendid new block starts construction in January 2024. Fresh bread, croissants etc can be ordered for the following day. Good shop in the local village.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: - large pitch for a tent

Disliked: - no map given on arrival, hard to find the pitch, water etc - rubbish left on the pitch - toilet door doesn’t offer full privacy - view of the river is underwhelming and only reserved for a couple of pitches - you can only walk the width of the campsite along the river, neighbours have blocked further access - VERY loud apartment guests at 3am with a dog barking through the night. No security on site, no one telling them to be quiet. Left for a sleepless night - showers - somewhat clean, no pegs for clothes/towels, small, not much water protection for towels We wouldn’t recommend this as a place to stay. Nearby village was nice but the site was underwhelming and the sleepless night was a step too far.

Liked: Arrival / reception was good / efficient, Sanitary block was good, clean & modern.

Disliked: Ugly red & white tape divided many plots in an attempt to prevent cut through. Access to plot just about ok for small caravan but I imagine 'challenging' for a bigger caravan. Tight corners. Having a mover was very useful. Directly alongside the river, but no access. Fencing & locked gates.

Local attractions

Camping de la Seine's friendly team will happily give tips on local activities or help guests their days out; pickups, tours and dropoffs can all be arranged at the site. A family day or two out should be sorted at the Mesnil-Jumièges leisure centre within a short drive, where there's the Planet Adventure park, a recreational lake with zipline above the water, a diving platform, bungee jumping, archery, a BMX track and miniature golf. The centre has bike parking and wifi. Also within a few kilometres are the ruins of Jumièges abbey, a seventh-century monastery famed in later years as a main centre of Norman culture and learning. Group and guided tours are available, as well as temporary exhibitions, themed activities and kids' workshops.
