Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: Beautiful set up. Someone has really invested in the glamping here, unfortunately the renters amongst us were a little forgotten

Disliked: Tent pitches were waterlogged. Cafe and bar were closed. Was told by the receptionist that they did not have wifi, which I find odd.

From the manager: Hello Conrad, I would like to take the liberty of commenting on your remarks, which I feel are unjustified. I remember your visit and I suspected your comments, you came at a time when the rain did not stop for several days, so yes the pitches were waterlogged but unfortunately we cannot do much about the weather!! and I do not understand this kind of comment ! we had very few people and the reception is open from 8am in the morning to 7pm in the evening (when the weather is good often 22 h) so sorry if you came outside these hours to drink a coffee, but they are posted at the reception. Regarding wifi, we are fortunate to have a wooded park and it is true that wifi is complicated in the park, which is why we have provided free access to a brand new coworking space and a lovely new turret open 24 /24 with lounge and wifi, as well as the entire terrace in front of our reception. Perhaps you haven't seen all this and I'm sorry. Sincerely

Good clean site overall and Monet’sgarfem is an easy drive.

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: The setting was lovely, very quiet at all times. The site has a lot of static homes, all well cared for. The staff were lovely and always willing to help.

Disliked: The only problem we encountered was the chemical toilet and grey water disposal was temporarily unavailable due to building improvement work being undertaken. We were able to find a local service point.

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: Quiet during our visit. Showers and toilets clean - hot water but no soap or hand drier. Nice welcome - croissants etc can be ordered and not too expensive. Can walk into Les Andelys (about 3 k).

Disliked: We didn’t see the site at its best- ongoing work on spa area delayed because of weather. This had NO impact on pitches though. The weather was wet and our pitch was quite wet and muddy but that can’t be helped! No soap or hand drier in toilet block.

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: Staff, allowed to move for no extra cost when pitch too wet (spinny wheels). Showers and toilets clean. Lovely green site.

Disliked: No grey waste. Lights in toilets and showers stay on for 30 seconds then you have to start waving your arms around or stay the dark 😀

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: Pitch had water and electric, excellent showers and toilet facilities. Overall a lovely site and the owners couldn’t be more delightful and friendly. Loved the chateau and bar. As frequent visitors to France will definitely visit again as our ‘go to’ stopover on our way down to our Gite.

Disliked: Nothing

Power optional grass and gravel campsite (Private restroom amenities)

Liked: The opportunity to have private bathroom facilities towards the end of our three week holiday although this was perhaps a little pricey. The staff were friendly, the pitch was level and the private bathroom facilities were clean. Proximity to Giverny, Chateau Gaillard and Rouen, all trip highlights.

Disliked: Not a big problem but we were at the very far end of the site and it was a 10 minute round trip to walk to the office and clothes washing facilities (not great in the rain).

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: One of the best places we have ever stayed in, superb. Plenty to do for the kids. The owners are a wonderful couple, so friendly and so very helpful. The highest praise we can possibly give anyone reading this, is that we cannot wait to go back later this year, the whole family loved it there, highly recommended and cannot thank them enough for a perfect stay. Forgot to mention, toilet blocks spotlessly clean.

Disliked: Nothing, everything was lovely

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: Lovely quiet site, beautiful dog greeted us at reception. Very clean and ample toilets & showers.

Disliked: Only downside was a lot of building work going on but this is obviously just going to improve things in the future.

From the manager: I understand, but the bad weather in April put us behind schedule, but by the end of May everything will be back in order, with a beautiful wellness area and a new tennis court... see you soon! merci

Power optional grass and gravel campsite

Liked: Lovely large pitches, secure site and great large toilet blocks. Sited in stunning village, great for walking and larger town 5mins drive away.

Disliked: Could do with better lighting around the camp.

Local attractions

Get set for a bit of a climb and a lot of picture-snapping at Château Gaillard (15 minutes’ drive): the grand hilltop castle, the old stomping ground of Richard the Lionheart, has mind-boggling views over the River Seine. Évreux Cathedral (30 minutes) is another site of fancy – its sheer size enough to make your head spin. For a test of strength and bravery, battle the high ropes at Acroforest (40 minutes). Alternatively, head to Golf de Gaillon (15 minutes) for a gentler piece of the action. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped right into one of Monet’s paintings at his preserved home and gardens in Giverny (25 minutes). Once you’ve had your fill of fancy plants, make room for the other face of nature and greet the animals at Biotropica Zoo (35 minutes). If city living is more down your avenue, Rouen (40 minutes) and Paris (an hour and 15) aren’t out of reach. For families with kids, you can admire all the best French cities in miniature form at France Miniature (an hour), a good pick for little feet not fit to take on the real-life cities on foot.
