- Small peaceful site without noisy entertainment, 200m from Carnac
- Shops within 1.5 kilometres and hiking trails from the site
- Well-maintained setting with pine trees, flowers, pools and playground
There are reasons why this small site has been thiriving here for decades. Reasons beaucoup, in fact. First up is its setting on the Brittany and Morbihan coast, a pifflingly short stroll from a cluster of the region's mighty menhirs at Carnac: if you dig your ancient rocks, this is the place to put down roots.
Et secondly – and thirdly – Camping de Kérabus is a peaceful and hugely scenic site carefully set up and looked after, among beds of flower, swathes of green, and tall trees aplenty: if you dig serene and hidden spots, this is very much your place too.
Facilities are top notch for a family site, with a heated outdoor pool and paddling pool for heated outdoor splashing, and a good range of all-sized activity options including a playground with inflatables and a trampoline, a multisports pitch, table football, table tennis and the ever-present pétanque. Ice cream, bread, pastries, cold drinks and other fuelling essentials are at the site shop.
Camping de Kérabus is a kilometre and a half from Carnac town, where there's a market on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. Bag many more local supplies here; for yet more foodie bits, shops are within a kilometre and a half.
Hiking trails leave directly from the site.

Local attractions
Even if you don't dig ancient rocks, you should while bedding down here, as the whopping blocks of rock at Carnac make up the biggest collection of megalithic stones in the world: take that, Stonehenge.
The 3,000 or so rocks dating from around 4,500 BC are one of Brittany’s most popular attractions – and like Stonehenge, no-one knows why they're there. Hear all about it at Carnac's most excellent Museum of Prehistory, a kilometre and a half from Camping de Kérabus.
Carnac (or more accurately, Carnac-plage) is also famed for its five beaches, accessible by small paths and popular for fishing. The most popular family beach is the two-kilometre Grande Plage, with two kids' clubs as well as lifeguards in summer; elsewhere, make for St-Colomban for windsurfing and kitesurfing, or above the beaches to the coastal path along to La-Trinité-sur-Mer. Shellfish should be enthusiastically sampled in Carnac too: the town has dozens of oyster farmers plying their shelly goods around the Anse de Pô.
Day trips of all sorts are easily had around this spectacular part of Brittany, such as to Auray (15 minutes' drive), the island of Saint-Cado and the Etel estuary (20 minutes); Quiberon and the Côte Sauvage (30 minutes); Vannes (30 minutes); Lorient (35 minutes) and the Gulf of Morbihan (50 minutes).
