It's free, quick and easy!
- Quiet, green family site with a heated indoor swimming pool
- A 10-minute walk from Camors and a 20-minute drive to Brech lake
- Petanque, games room, play area, fishing, ping pong, board games
If you’re holidaying in the south of Brittany put Camping Le Village Insolite on the itinerary; sandwiched as it is between coast and countryside, it’s a prime option for your next hol – especially if an indoor heated pool sounds (quite rightly) like a stellar addition to a trip...
This site’s also got petanque courts for flexing your muscles the French way and kids’ games indoors or outdoors (so les enfants can still be entertained for a couple of hours even if it rains). The clan can reunite later on at the ping pong table or by borrowing one of the board games and setting up a family tournament.
… Or maybe it’s best to save such activities for after dinner? When thoughts turn to food, barbecues are to hand and a grocery shop on site means you can pick up produce without needing to pootle along to the local town (although Camors is a trifling 10 minutes away on foot).
For brekkie, say bonjour to the morning with bits and bobs of the baked variety (for sale at the site) and buy drinks and snacks throughout the day – perhaps to take out and picnic on in the lush local scenery. A pond’s on site for landing fish while Brech’s a 20-minute drive for canoeing and kayaking on a lake.
If it’s a beach you hanker after, plunge on towards the sandy shores of Plage de Kerhillio (40 minutes’ drive) to watch kitesurfers whirl about way up high.

Local attractions
To traverse above the treetops at an adventure park, wander over to X-Trèm Forest (10 minutes’ walk) then troop around on the rope bridges et al set up here above the leaves; hiking, horse riding and mountain biking are also all available from Camors. If the younger travellers in your crew are clamouring for rides and thrills instead, Kingoland is 20 minutes’ drive away.
Aquatic wanders can be had instead a little further on (35 minutes’ drive) beside the Etel river down towards the coast; swerve towards La Trinité-sur-Mer (40 minutes) for one of the top towns in the area where you can whizz off on boat tours around the famed Gulf of Morbihan.
Sticking to this seaside setting, Carnac (35 minutes) has prehistoric standing stones and the Quiberon peninsula is an hour for tall cliffs, rugged rocks and yachting trips on the sand.
