Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Good sized pitch, screened by bushes. Facilities very clean. Nice and quiet site. Good value.

Disliked: Wi-Fi was intermittent, electric went off twice think capacity was at the limit as site was busy. Although snacks were advertised no food was available and the bar closed at 7pm prompt. I know we all have to save water but I must have lost 20 minutes of my life filling our water tank, pressing those infernal push-release taps and trickling water pressure. Arrival was a nightmare, told off for parking at the barrier and blocking the entrance but there were no signs and nowhere to park without blocking in parked cars.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: The location of our pitch was so quiet and private yet near to the showers and other facilities. The bar was a nice place to meet other travellers and swap stories. Books and games were freely available to borrow. The reception staff were friendly and thankfully spoke English. The laundry facilities were great and the toilets and showers were kept impeccably clean. There was a lovely French market town just up the road and a beautiful beach nearby (Pen Guen) with a great little restaurant to eat with a sea view. Thete were super cycle tracks around to explore while avoiding main roads. It was a perfect stay!

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: The pitch size was large. The staff were friendly. The pool size was impressive and very clean. The site was conveniently placed for cycle rides. The free wifi was much better than the average poor service provided by most campsites.

Disliked: The chemical toilet point was situated a long way from our pitch. An alternative would have helped.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Very clean facilities, both showers and toilets. Service point excellent.

Disliked: Grass pitches a bit muddy and the sand/gravel covering didn't help much. Some pitches need a very long electric lead.

Local attractions

A tree climbing park, an 18-hole golf course and a recreation park are all nearby, as are watersports such as diving, boat trips, sand yachting and paddleboating from the Cotes-d'Armor waters. Mountain bike and hiking trails leave from nearby; ask the amiable owners for their top tips on which to follow. The closest beaches are at Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, the port town and seaside resort that became a swish place to build one's villa around the middle of the 19th century (the Quartier des Mielles and the Pointe de la Garde are where you'll see the poshest examples). Sandy beaches are around the town, along with a spacious Emerald Coast headland, hidden coves and the GR 34 coastal route. A couple of capes are must-sees around this part of Brittany, the first being the purple headland of Cape Erquy, 20 minutes' drive away at the eastern end of St-Brieuc Bay and home to Erquy port, famed for its scallops and beach resort. Then there's stunning Cap Fréhel, 20 minutes' drive to the north, with seabird reserve, old lighthouse and fortified castle, and spectacular vistas over the Emerald Coast and the Channel Islands.
