Many visitors say that Krka National Park is a magical place – centred around a series of gorgeous clear waterfalls, it's full of stunning scenery. It’s at its very best early in the morning, or later in the day, outside of the hours when day-trippers fill the pathways.
And that's where a stay at Krka Fairytale Village comes in – this sweet little glamping site is in the village of Rupe, just outside the national park. That handy location means you’ll be in prime position for a day in the park, perhaps being among the first in early in the morning to have the trails almost to yourselves.
The walking trails, bike routes, boat tours and viewpoints of the national park are the star attractions, of course, but there's plenty more to do in the area for those sticking around a little longer. Explore the local countryside and you’ll be able to wander around traditional villages, visit caves and try some local wine, or head down to the coast.
The scenery around here is gorgeous – and the colourful, character-packed accommodation at Krka Fairytale Village is a great match for its surroundings. Each of the mini cottages has been nicely thought out with a cute design and plenty of handy facilities including a well-equipped kitchenette and an ensuite bathroom. Air conditioning and heating keep things temperate in all weathers, and bedding and towels are provided.
As well as your own private kitchenette, you’ll also be able to use the shared outdoor kitchen space, which has plenty of dining space. A firepit/barbecue and outdoor seating are also provided to help you make the most of your alfresco time.

- The park caters for families (immediate members) and couples only - bookings from all other forms of groups are not accepted.
- There is no reception building on-site: on arrival please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

Local attractions
Once you've seen the waterfalls, take some lake time too – Lake Visovac (10 minutes' drive) is lovely for a walk and a swim, and you can take a boat trip to the tiny island that’s home to Visovac Monastery.
You can also take a swim from the beach in Skradin (20 minutes), a pretty village with lots of colourful houses. Meanwhile, for more of a thrill, brave visitors can have a go at Zipline Šibenik (half an hour).
Getting to grips with the area’s heritage might include an outing to Etnoland (35 minutes), a stroll around Burnum Amphitheatre (half an hour) or a wander around the ruins at Bribirska Glavica (15 minutes). Arguably, you could also class wine-tasting in the village of Plastovo (10 minutes) as a cultural experience…
For a different day out, head to the coast to stroll around Šibenik (half an hour) or explore the historic streets of Split (an hour).
