Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked: This is our second greener campsite that we have stayed at and we really like the concept… very natural field but with low key but very clean facilities. Glamping I suppose

Disliked: Grass pitches little tricky to get off when wet…. But to be expected when almost wild camping

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked: We stopped here for a night on our tour of Pembrokeshire and so glad we did. A beautiful tranquil campsite with great facilities. So many stars! Walked down to the village pub and had a lovely meal. We managed to fit in a short walk on the coastal path from Ceibwr Bay- incredible rock formations, amazing wild flowers and saw some Choughs and a Puffin. We’ll be back!

Local attractions

First stop the beach? Backed by dunes, Newport Sands (10 minutes’ drive) sits on the River Nevern estuary and suits all comers, from surfers to rockpoolers and swimmers. Poppit Sands (20 minutes) is popular for power kiting, kite boarding and sand yachting, while Ceibwr Bay, Pwllgwaelod and Aberfforest (all 15 minutes) are other likely candidates for fun times on the sand. There are walks of all lengths and difficulty in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, including dramatic coastline hikes on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and if you’re looking for something a bit more adrenaline-inducing, have a go at coasteering or try cliff-climbing on ropes at Carreg-y-Barcud (45 minutes). If that just sounds too scary, then potter down to the castle ruins in the pretty village of Nevern (20 minutes’ walk), and stop off for a pint at the pub. Have a look inside the neolithic burial chamber at Pentre Ifan (10 minutes’ drive), and if that piques your interest, check out the reconstructed Iron Age round houses at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village (also 10 minutes).
