  • Simple pitches mown into a meadow at a Pembrokeshire family farm
  • A 15-minute drive from Newgale beach; 20 minutes from St Davids
  • Live music and comedy nights most Fridays and Saturdays; bar on site
Trehale Farm is a small family-run Pembrokeshire farm, 20 minutes from Haverfordwest, that’s diversified over the years to include a campsite and a barn that hosts events including live music and stand-up comedy. What you’ll find when you get here depends on the day you pick: midweek stays are quieter, with weekends being more like a fun-filled festival. Throughout the summer there will be something happening most Friday and Saturday nights; campsite guests are welcome to attend but will need to book ahead (drop the team a line to find out what’s on while you’re there). Quieter open mic nights are held on Wednesday evenings. The bar – serving local ales, ciders and lagers – at its liveliest over the weekend, but it can also be opened during the week if there’s demand. If you fancy a sunset pint or something to take back to your pitch, just ask on site. Camping pitches are mown into the meadow, and well spaced to give you privacy from other guests. The pitch fee is for up to six people but this can be in multiple tents/vans with gazebos/awnings, and extra people can be added at an additional nightly cost. Barbecues and firepits are allowed as long as they’re raised off the ground and never left unattended. This is still a small working farm, so kids (and grownups) can spot pigs, goats and chickens around the place. They sometimes have fresh veg and eggs for sale, but a better option is the local farm shop – it’s 10 minutes’ walk away and stocks all sorts of local produce. The site facilities are minimal and consist of portable and compost toilets, plus each pitch has a tap for cold water and a basic open-air solar shower.
