  • Quiet wildlife haven on a 45-acre smallholding
  • Five minutes' drive from Llangwm; Marloes Sands 30 minutes' drive
  • Meadow site with natural pools and streams; nearest pub one mile away
Get a much-needed fix of outdoor living and spend time with family and friends at Tally Ho Farm, a peaceful wildlife haven in the Pembrokeshire countryside. Located a mile outside of the village of Llangwm and a five-minute drive from the edge of the Cleddau river, this spot has a handful of wild-style pitches spread out over a 45-acre smallholding within a landscape of trees, fields, streams and natural pools. Tally Ho Farm is a chilled sort of campsite, with generous amounts of space between the pitches to relax in. Although this is definite more of an under-the-radar spot, it's very well-equipped for outdoor holidays, coming with facilities like access to eco toilets and showers, a campfire area, running water, access to a shared fridge and a chemical disposal point. It's also possible to buy firewood on site for campfires. Kids can spend their time here pond-dipping or roving through the woods, while grownup guests may be intrigued by the popular local pub that serves up ales, wines and food roughly a mile down the road in Llangwm. Other village amenities include a pharmacy and local bus services; for the nearest supermarket and for a wide range of non-food shops, head north to Haverfordwest (10 minutes' drive).

Local attractions

Popping into Pembroke (20 minutes' drive) is always a recipe for a fun day out, whether you're in the mood for boating on the Mill Pond, exploring the 11th-century castle inside and out or inspecting the medieval artefacts on display in the town's museum. Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre (10 minutes) is just down the road too and offers a fascinating insight into Wales' historic royal dockyards. For other experiences, take on the rides and rollercoasters at Oakwood Theme Park (25 minutes), get to grips with an ancient sport at West Wales Falconry (35 minutes), or head up north towards Fishguard and experience Ocean Lab (30 minutes), a catch-and-release aquarium where you can get up close and personal with some of Wales' weirdest sea creatures. Finally, to make more memories by the beach, head to coastal resorts like Tenby (30 minutes), explore wild majestic seascapes like Marloes Sands (30 minutes) or don a wetsuit and helmet to try out coasteering at the gorgeous Blue Lagoon (45 minutes) with a bit of help from the expert instructors at Celtic Quest, a top-reviewed outdoor activities organiser.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Stunning location, limited facilities but we were aware, very quiet so peaceful and relaxing. Will and Heidi were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble and they helped us out in our time of need ! Our grandson loved the animals and the tractor especially and the space to run around freely.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Will was exceptional! Apart from being the nicest man in the world, his pitches are immaculate, tucked away in the bracken and tree line to give privacy in all directions. Spacious and open and clean, Tally Ho ticks every box. The location is perfect for trips to St Davids or Tenby and there is plenty of local eating choices in Haverford West and nearby.

At the campsite, every pitch had its own bench which was great because I forgot the chairs. It made prepping, cooking and eating a joy alongside being sat in the middle of nature. An evening wander amongst the sheep was peaceful and relaxing and a well-needed reminder that flogging yourself to death at an office job isn’t really what we are here for.

Toilets were clean and easy to use, showers the same with the addition of plentiful hot water.

The night sky is incredible with no light pollution, Starlink was easy to pick out and watching the moon rise was an added bonus.

We had a great time and it is not an ‘if’ we will be back, but a ‘when’.

Thank you Will!

From the manager: Ah thankyou. Was an absolute pleasure to meet you guys as well. Glad you liked it, we are evolving slowly but the main ethos is to keep it small, quiet and personal with the green minded ethos. We have been lucky to be able to be the custodians of this small area of countryside and enjoy sharing it with others. Can’t wait to see you again as well 😁 Best regards Will & Heidi

From the manager: Thankyou for your kind review. We try hard to keep it small and personal. More than welcome back anytime you want. Give us a bell if you are back in the area would be good to see you back. Great feeling when people want to come back again, makes the hard work all worth it to think we are doing something right 😀

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Privacy of separate spacious pitches

Disliked: Not really a dislike, but one or two more toilets would be nice

From the manager: Hi ya, glad you enjoyed it and enjoyed the space and peace. Thanks for the feedback about toilets, good to know. Heidi and I were talking about this tonight, we looked at flushing toilets as well, we think we might have a look at combination of both of normal and composting toilets as some people like the concept. Best regards Will & Heidi
