Powered grass RV campsite

Liked: Superb hard standing pitches, with water at each pitch. Grass surround so an awning would be no problem. Lovely secure dog walking area, and a play area for children. The Landscaping was beautiful and the site was very well kept. Friendly owner. Facilities were very clean. Very close to Fishguard! Would Definitely stay again in the future.

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked: Very scenic views

Disliked: No contact on site just a note in the reception window hence no information available about the local places of interest to visit. Washing facilities in need of updating. The description of the distance into town mentioned on the site information was very liberal to say the least very steep walking in places.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. If you don’t arrive when reception is open then your pitch number is left on the board. This we find works well but we are always available on the phone. Leaflets are dropped off by the local distributor of the local attractions and we have coast to coast brochures which are in our laundry room and are available 24 hrs a day. We have found over the last couple of years people tend to use Google to find out what’s on in the area and have ideas of what they’d like to see and do prior to coming and brochures and leaflets are hardly picked up. Our washing facilities were updated 4 years ago and hot water provided and included in the price. With regards to the location that’s down to personal preferences - we have many that walk in and out no problem at all. Personally myself when choosing a campsite to stay I look at all of the above and make my own decision i.e if I could manage being out of town or not! The road you walked along is the one you drove along to get to our site so you had an understanding of the walk and distance yourself prior to actually doing it.

Local attractions

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is a smashing place for spectacular scenery: head here for hikes or just sit and take in the views. Wildlife is all around too, so look out for cormorants diving into the sea, squawking gulls following the many sailing boats, and porpoises and dolphins in the waters below the cliffs. Grey seal pups will usually be around from September to December. For walks, follow the Pembrokeshire Coast Path on its stretch from Fishguard to Newport (have some time in Fishguard first) or follow the coast around Strumble Head, also part of the coast path and among the most remote landscape in Pembrokeshire. Spectacular beach scenery and more wildlife watching are close to hand at the likes of Newport, Cwm Yr Eglwys, Pwllgwaleod Beach, while Whitesands and Newgale Beach are the spots for surfing. Or take the kids to Folly Farm or to Oakwood Theme Park, less than an hour away, or to see the tiny city of St Davids and its cathedral. Finally, anyone visiting the Cwm Gwaun area can't tick it off their travel list without dropping in to the Dyffryn Arms or Bessie's, run by generations of the same family since 1845. You might then also fancy a trip to Bluestone Brewery in the Preseli Hills…
