Would have been quieter without our neighbours.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Beautiful space with dark skies
Disliked Different to find based on directions given. Better to add that the entrance is near the.... bridge.
Users didn't use follow instructions.
Toilets left unflushed.
People next to us were drunk one night and mum fell into our tent without apologising after 10pm. My son was in his room and wondered what happened. I reminded them about the 9pm rule. It didn't happen again, so we didn't report.

From the manager: Thank you for staying at Morfa Brenin, and for taking the time to leave a review.
I'm sorry to hear you had difficulty finding the site. Unfortunately the postcode doesn’t lead directly here, which is why I've included our what3words location on the booking page — I hope it helps future guests find us more easily.
I'm also very sorry to hear about the incident involving another guest, and that the toilets weren’t flushed. That’s certainly not the standard I'm aiming for, and I really appreciate you bringing it to my attention — as well as your patience in reminding others of the site rules.
I do hope you were still able to enjoy some of your stay, and I hope to welcome you back in the future.
Best regards,
Dafydd
Overall a great one night stay for the 3 of us .
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The small site was more peaceful , especially for a bank holiday weekend , it meant there was no large groups screaming and shouting when you have to be up for a hike . The owner was polite and welcoming and the site was well setup.
Disliked I can't lie I will never be a portaloo fan , I'd rather go in a Bush due to the fact people destroy them and the smell travels for miles ,which is unfortunately what we could smell from our tent many of time through the evening . On a positive campers around us had intense which helped dramatically and this is not the owners fault it comes with the setup unfortunately. We weren't sure if we could have just paid for 1 pitch as our 3 tents alone took up less space than every other tent in the field which would have been nice to be clarified in the booking description to avoid possibly over paying vs others ? But it was still cheap enough so no major complaints

From the manager: Hi Kate,
Thanks so much for your review! We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, especially over the busy bank holiday weekend. We want everyone to have a calm and welcoming experience, so it’s great to know that came across.
We completely understand your thoughts about the portaloos. We do our best to keep them clean, but unfortunately, some issues come with the setup. Thanks for being understanding about that.
Thanks also for your feedback about the pitch sizes and booking details. We’ll review the information and see how we can make things clearer to avoid any confusion in the future.
We’re glad you still felt it was good value, and we hope to welcome you back again soon!
Best wishes,
Dafydd
Basic site and limited in terms of space and facilities.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Potentially the setting, but arrived at night and not able to see them properly.
Met by friendly host who helped when we thought we'd missed the site.
Disliked Toilet facilities were basic, unisex festival style cubicals. On the two occasions I used them, they were not clean and smelled bad.
No showers.

From the manager: Thanks so much for staying at Morfa Brenin and for taking the time to leave a review. I’m really sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations.
We know the postcode doesn’t take you directly to the site, and that can be frustrating. I've added the What3Words location to the booking page to make finding us much easier.
I’m also sorry the toilets weren’t clean when you used them. I did try to pop by and clean throughout the day, but I understand it might not have been enough, especially during busier periods.
As noted on the booking page, this has been our very first season, and the facilities are quite basic for now. The pricing does reflect that, but we know there’s still room for improvement. We’re already planning upgrades for next year — better toilets and showers are at the top of the list.
We really appreciate your feedback — it helps us learn and grow. Thank you again for giving us a try.
All the best,
Dafydd
Great community experience with wild camping feel!
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great site and experience, it was as described, a new site with pop up facilities, well maintained by the host who was active and available for feedback.
We went to enjoy what I would describe as communal wild camping, other guests were great and we had a great time, we stayed for 3 nights and would happily return.
Location was great for exploring the island, whether on foot, by bike or car, we visited Newborough Beach, Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay whilst here as well as visiting Caernarfon Castle.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words — it really means a lot! I'm so glad you had a great time here and that everything was as described. I try to keep the site clean, simple, and welcoming, so it’s lovely to hear that came across during your stay.
It’s great to know you enjoyed the communal camping feel and got on well with the other guests. That’s exactly the kind of atmosphere I hope to create — relaxed, friendly, and easygoing.
It was a pleasure having you for the three nights, and I’d be really happy to welcome you back anytime. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review — it’s genuinely appreciated!

From the manager: Thank you for booking a stay at Morfa Brenin. I'm genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations.
I would like to address a few points raised in your review:
Facilities & Activities: These are clearly listed on our booking page, so I was surprised to see a 1/5 rating. We aim to be as transparent as possible so that guests know what to expect before arriving.
Customer Service: We did not receive any communication from you during your stay. Had you reached out, I would have done my best to resolve any concerns promptly.
Cleanliness: Our portaloos, wash area, and bins were checked and maintained regularly throughout the weekend. No issues were reported by other guests.
WiFi: Our listing clearly states that there is no WiFi available on site. This is part of the experience we offer — a chance to disconnect and enjoy nature.
Quiet Hours: We have strict quiet times between 9pm–9am, as stated on the booking page. Again, if there was a disturbance and you had contacted me, I would have tried my best to resolve any concerns.
As a small, independent business, I rely heavily on honest and fair reviews to grow and improve. While I understand that not every experience will be perfect, I believe many of your concerns could have been resolved with some communication during your stay.
Thank you again for visiting, and I wish you all the best in your future travels.
Kind regards,
Dafydd
