Powered grass campsite

Liked: Second time on this site and wouldn’t hesitate to return again. Brilliant campsite. Booked a grass pitch but staff offered me a hard standing instead due to ground conditions which I really appreciated. Nice pitches, quite a few onsite but all feel roomy and quiet. Facilities are excellent. Toilets, showers and wash up area are literally always spotlessly clean and well stocked. Great hikes in the local area. Very reasonable price, especially as good quality WiFi included. All staff very friendly and approachable whilst also leaving you to enjoy the peace and quiet

Disliked: Nothing, can’t fault it

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Staff were really friendly upon arrival and even came to check we were okay whilst we were pitching up. Went above and beyond to drop off and assist when we asked for wood for the fire pits they provide. Toilets were immaculate and we all complimented how the music/ radio in the background made it even more pleasant. Family shower rooms were great and very ideal when camping with young children. Plenty of fresh water taps around the site so you're never too far to put the kettle on. Site is dog friendly and has a dog walking field that's great. Little one really loved the park and farm animals on site and the planes too that would fly over occasionally. Overall a great site, will be visiting again!

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Good facilities Loved the goats

Disliked: The sat nav took us up an extremely narrow lane which scraped the sides of van by the trees ect …. Council keeps removing any sign post the site put up saying better road further on so my suggestion would be to put something on the booking confirmation to let people know of the better way to approach site!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Lovely Clean Facilities, Camp site has animals (Sheep, Cow, Goats and Chickens) for the little one to feed (50p a bag), very helpful staff. Reception has a small shop for items you may need (milk etc). Shower and toilet block is heated with music playing, very modern and always very very clean. Site has wifi repeaters spreaded around so always seen able to connect to the site wifi. Cannot fault this campsite, been back twice now and would seriously consider going again.

Disliked: None, near perfect campsite.

Summer primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Facilities were really clean and worked well. Staff were so helpful, the weather wasn't great so the lower end of the summer non-electric camp field was hard to get a car on and off. They offered to help tow if needed or collect our items from our pitch.

Disliked: Not being able to have our car next to the tent for the last day due to weather.

Local attractions

Start your hols in the past with trips on the steam trains at Bala Lake Railway and Fairbourne Miniature Railway, both less than 25 minutes’ drive away, then go zooming into the future at the Centre for Alternative Technology, an eco-centre teaching sustainable development methods. Budding angler looking for your fishing fix? Turn your boat to Cregennan lakes about 25 minutes from the site to cast a line – if nothing’s biting, there are scenic trails around the lake so it won’t be a wasted trip. Stay out in the open by joining the flock for a sheep trekking experience, also 25 minutes away, or dive below the earth’s surface and clamber into a boat at award-winning King Arthur’s Labyrinth. For something a little more high culture, the Machynlleth modern art museum is half an hour from Llwyn yr Helm and is well worth a poke around.
