Liked: The park itself is flawless, absolutely immaculate. The surroundings are as scenic as you'll get anywhere in the UK. The facilities are clean and modern. We spent our stay camping down by the picture postcard river. Couldn't have asked for more. If all that weren't enough, the best part of the stay was how welcoming, friendly and accommodating the owners were, they even let us borrow their electric hook up extension, Caroline and Roy, thank you for your hospitality!

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Liked: Peace and quiet Friendliness of owners. Very clean facilities, plenty of hot water free showers. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the owners. The nearest local shop and pub is 2 miles away, was a lovely walk in the sunshine. Beautiful scenery. Seeing the Northern Lights in a beautiful setting

Disliked: Wi-Fi and phone signal unfortunately quite poor. I’m on O2, nothing !

Liked: The views were beautiful and the kids loved being right by the stream with the lambs opposite. Having dogs, the off lead dog field was perfect to wear them out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Facilities clean. Loved the option of being able to borrow games and magazines.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite

Liked: Such a lovely quiet park, but within easy walking distance to 2 pubs , and a short drive to a local shop. We had the large pitch for our motorhome, and it's right next to the river. The grounds were well kept and a lovely shower and toilet block, a washing and drying room with lots of little extras. WiFi is also included! We will definitely be booking again.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike here!

Local attractions

Several walks lead directly from the site, and you can lace up your boots, pack up a picnic and hike the eight miles up to Wales’ highest waterfall, Pistyll Rhaeadr if you’re feeling particularly energised. Other outdoorsy pursuits within easy reach include horse riding, fishing and cycling… And as the site is right near Llangynog village, you’re also well placed for challenging and spectacularly scenic bike rides around the Milltir Cerrig mountain pass along the B4391, which runs between Llan Ffestiniog and Llanfyllin. If you fancy checking out the area’s lakes, the route over the mountain to Bala – 90 minutes’ bike ride or 25 minutes by car – is a highly scenic one, and at the end you’ll be greeted by lots of watery sports such as canoeing, windsurfing and whitewater rafting, or climbing, hiking, cycling, abseiling, archery and campcraft if you’d prefer to stay dry. Lake Vwrnwy is an easy half hour away.
