  • Well-kept family-run park just off the A487 at Llanon
  • A 10-minute drive to Aberaeron and 25 minutes to Aberystwyth
  • A short walk to a shingle beach and the Ceredigion Coast Path
What a wonderful location for a break close to the Ceredigion coast. Family-run Woodlands Holiday Park is in a very handy spot just off the A487 (the main road running along the west coast of Wales) and about half a mile from Llanon village centre (home to a pub, a butcher, a convenience store, a fish and chip shop and bus stops for jaunts by public transport). And that’s just the practical side of things, because this lovely location is also just a few minutes’ walk from the coast for a shingle beach and access to the Ceredigion Coast Path. There are plenty more walks to be had in the surrounding area as well, and plenty more excellent coastal spots to explore – Aberaeron (10 minutes’ drive) and Aberystwyth (25 minutes) are a couple of the top picks, along with New Quay (20 minutes), a dolphin-spotting hub. So that’s the location, but what about the park? Well, it’s a well-maintained and peaceful place with a good list of useful facilities including wifi, a launderette, a washing-up area and bathrooms with toilets and showers. Dogs and kids are both welcome, and guests are allowed to bring along a barbecue for a bit of alfresco cookery.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Site was in a good location for what we wanted to do and was quiet

Disliked We booked a hard standing as we didn’t want a grass pitch in the rain. However, we would have been better booking a grass pitch as the hard standing was basically mud with very small stones in it that made a mess in the caravan and car every time you walked on it and was quite slippery.
The toilet/shower block was very dated and had a fusty smell.
Someone let their dog foul by our caravan twice without picking it up.

Liked Nice little site. Tucked away near beautiful little pebble beach. Facilities were just right for what we needed. Very clean, quiet. Owners were great with communication about pitch number etc.

Disliked No shop on site but is only a small site and not too far to drive to a shop and a pub

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked Only a 10 minute walk to the beach and coastal path. Spacious well marked pitches which are allocated before arrival making it quick and easy to get set up. We had shaded pitch backing onto a residential area which we were very grateful of due to the hot weather. Nice and quiet in the evenings, no big groups/parties.

Showers were hot (free) and each cubicle has a bench and plenty of hooks. We never had to wait or queue to use the facilities.

Disliked From the camping field it is a longer than usual walk to the toilet block/washing up facilities which are located close to all the static vans, this seemed an odd layout given the guests who will rely on the facilities most were furthest away from them. Having said that it was a well lit, tarmac path.

Facilities were clean but could do with updating, hairdryer in mens does not work, no sanitary bins in the ladies.

You can pay £5 for WiFi but it's not very reliable. We weren't trying to stream anything, just browsing for local information/weather was not always possible, it seemed to be worse in the evenings.
