  • Family tourer site five minutes’ drive from the M8 in Renfrewshire
  • Half an hours’ drive to central Glasgow; 25 minutes to Loch Lomond
  • Award-winning restaurant and cocktail bar; horse riding
With horse riding available and an award-winning restaurant and bar to boot, you’ll never be short of something to do at family-friendly The Paddocks Touring Park in Renfrewshire. Easily accessed from the main M8 motorway, this is a handy overnighting spot on the way to the scenic west coast of Scotland, or if you’re keen to spend a few days exploring the local area, central Glasgow is half an hour’s drive. Hardstanding pitches have stunning views over hilly countryside around Bishopton, and each comes with a 32-amp electric hook-up, a water supply and waste drainage. If you are self-catering, you’ll find most of what you need at the small supermarket in Bishopton (five minutes’ drive). Alternatively, Palomino’s bar (stay over on a Saturday night for live music) and restaurant is open from breakfast to dinner, and there’s a food and drinks delivery service available between 12pm and 8pm. Most flowers, vegetables and herbs used in the restaurant are grown on site in polytunnels, and honey is produced in the beehives – guests are welcome to purchase some to take home. The practicalities: convenient facilities include modern showers, a laundry (additional cost), washing-up sinks and electric vehicle charging points. With 24-hour security, you’ll know that all your stuff is safe and sound on site. Two dogs are welcome per pitch, but please ensure they remain on the lead at the pitches. For horse riding, book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Liked: Very well kept pitches, clean ‘posh’ toilet block. Clear email instructions with pitch number, key code for toilet block and map showing the pitch layouts. We had a nice meal in the Palomino bar - better than expected, service was pleasant too. The livery stables are impressive!

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Credit where it is due. I stayed here months back and sadly needed to leave a poor review due to site noise, trucks and generators. I thought id never return here, but was in the area so choose to, pleasantly surprised this time, so much better experience and very pleased this visit. Peaceful and great location. So I'm happy to admit last review was harsh but true. Pleased to say this stay was great and yes I'll be back. (not allowed it seems to remove old review). But on this occasion a lovely stay at The Paddocks.

Disliked: The toilet facilities still very lacking, don't get me wrong they are super clean and nice decor etc. However they only have a couple each for men/women, its is not enough for about 30 pitches. And the lack of privacy is a huge no-no, showers have no personal changing area so it's like a school gym and everyone is naked together! As most motorhomes like myself are older and may have like myself disabilities maybe, it's highly inappropriate, I don't share space undressed! Big no-no on campsites sorry.
